Delicious Shrimp stuffed with Crab Meat

My first time and it was with a group of 8, which can be a problem. I was impressed that they allowed us to sit at the table although the party was not complete. We had wine and waited for the remaining ladies. We shared appetizers and the portions were large. The baked clams were perfect, the filet mignon was tender and juicy, and the garlic shrimp was enough to go around for all to share, all dishers were very hot. I ordered the shrimp stuffed with crab meat and it was memorable. The portion was large and dinner consisted of 10 large shrimps butterflied and overflowing with crab and breading . I had to take 6 shrimps home for the next day. My friend ordered the churasco and it was enormous, I would say about 16 inches long and it came with potatoes, onions and peppers in the same dish plus a side dish of either rice, vegetable or potato. Everyone enjoyed their food and many took food home. I would definitely consider this restaurant for dinner again.

    Never disappointed

Never disappointed dining here. The service is attentive, the food is delicious, & the portions are extremely large. Paella is enough for 2. I had a double cut Veal chop. Wonderful. It is also very affordable for what you get.

    Love this Place!

This is old school NY at its best. Great food, slightly tacky and faded ambience with great lighting. Seasoned waiters that glow and food that was really delicious. I don't know what that other writer was talking about. I had the paella (I'm in Spain annually) and it was as good, if not better, then many a paella I've had at fine restaurants in Spain. I Love this Place!

one of the best resturants in NY

Ive been to Spain several times and love eating good honest food - and lots of it. If this sounds like something you would like i can heartily recommend this restaurant. Genuine old school with genuinely good food and a reasonable price.

    This place is Old School

Its been awhile, but I've eaten here regularly for many years. This place is old school. The waiters are older and dressed in the traditional style. They are very good at service. The food is superb. To this day, I remember twin veal chops in a green peppercorn sauce that was truly outstanding. I think this place delivers real value and charm. I would recommend it to anyone.

    I'd give it another try

So let me preface this review saying that I've only been here once... I came really late.... I wanted paella... I've only had paella once before and it was in Spain. I found the paella to be overly salty. While I've only had paella once before, I think I can tell if something is too salty. The seafood was cooked well in it as was the rice... it was just a bit too salty which kinda ruined it for me. My boyfriend had the churrsasco which was huge and was very good. We also shared calamari a la plancha as an appetizer and it was EXCELLENT! I'd go back for the calamari and the steak! I'll go back... give it another try. Oh, and the sangria was pretty good too. And they are open late which is a plus.
