    Love this Place!

This is old school NY at its best. Great food, slightly tacky and faded ambience with great lighting. Seasoned waiters that glow and food that was really delicious. I don't know what that other writer was talking about. I had the paella (I'm in Spain annually) and it was as good, if not better, then many a paella I've had at fine restaurants in Spain. I Love this Place!

one of the best resturants in NY

Ive been to Spain several times and love eating good honest food - and lots of it. If this sounds like something you would like i can heartily recommend this restaurant. Genuine old school with genuinely good food and a reasonable price.

    This place is Old School

Its been awhile, but I've eaten here regularly for many years. This place is old school. The waiters are older and dressed in the traditional style. They are very good at service. The food is superb. To this day, I remember twin veal chops in a green peppercorn sauce that was truly outstanding. I think this place delivers real value and charm. I would recommend it to anyone.

    I'd give it another try

So let me preface this review saying that I've only been here once... I came really late.... I wanted paella... I've only had paella once before and it was in Spain. I found the paella to be overly salty. While I've only had paella once before, I think I can tell if something is too salty. The seafood was cooked well in it as was the rice... it was just a bit too salty which kinda ruined it for me. My boyfriend had the churrsasco which was huge and was very good. We also shared calamari a la plancha as an appetizer and it was EXCELLENT! I'd go back for the calamari and the steak! I'll go back... give it another try. Oh, and the sangria was pretty good too. And they are open late which is a plus.

    Holiday prices?

I have been going to this restaurant for years..just came home from a Mothers Day dinner and was SHOCKED that a note was included on the menu ..saying prices are higher today because of "the holiday". Won't be going back to soon!

    Mother's Day Disaster!

Have eaten here for many years. Tonight we were seven for Mother's Day. What a surprise to see a printed note inside the menu advising diners that they might notice an increase in prices, HOWEVER, the increase would only be for Mother's Day. Service was poor, dirty dishes left all over the table. Beware of holiday price increases.
