    Always consistent/always good

Have been eating there for years, but haven't been in a few months..as good as always. You can't beat the $19.95 lobster special, it was delicious, good service, funky place, a neighborhood mainstay.

    Always Dependably Amazing

I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. I love it. The waiters are excellent and the food is very, very good. This is the home of the city's most inexpensive lobster. The lobster stuffing is OUTSTANDING and the seafood and sausage paella is really great.

    Great as always

As always it was great. I hadn't been there for 2 years but went on Sat. The food was great. Had the Filet Mignon, it was a little overdone but not a big deal. The Stuffed Shrimp was delicious. Want to go again soon. Get the Champagne Sangria. Yum Yum.

    Great Food! Fun place!

My husband and I eat here whenever we are visiting NYC. It is a must. We have even considered planning a change-over on vacation flights to go through NYC just so we can stop in and eat here! The lobster is a must! And don't forget the sangria! We absolutely LOVE this place - super good and many fun times had here!

    21 years of ecstasy

I have been going there for the past 21 years with my then boyfriend, now husband, we go there on any special occasion, with friends or without, and I look so forward to going every time. I've told many, many friends about El Quijote and always have gotten positive feed back. And when someone asks me to recommend a great place to dine with great food I aways recommend EL QUIJOTE. We have tried almost everything on the menu always delicious. but I now usually have the DOUBLE LOBSTER, it's fantastic my husband usually has the MADRID NEW YORKER (surf and turf). The bread is fantastic my Husband has to remind me to stop eating it. The service is always great, and so is the atmosphere. So for anyone with a negative attitude about El Quijote, you need to get your taste buds checked. I'll be going on September 10, before theSalsa Festival at Madison Square Garden, and I just can't wait, I don't know if I'm more excited about the food or the Concert. I guess a little of both.

I also had the unappetizing bread experience

I'm sorry gang but this place is not that good. The food has this past-its-prime taste to it. I guess that's why they drown most of their dishes in sauce. The waitstaff can be rude. I don't appreciate being told what I can and can't wear in their establishment. Yes, they actually tried to turn me away because I wasn't dressed "properly." I was wearing jeans and a tank top. I didn't stink and I was wearing shoes. Also I had been there before! Needless to say that was my last visit. Oh and the decor is Tacky.
