    Celebrating My Birthday

I just had to stop by and say I had a wonderful time at your place. My girl friend took me out for my birthday and we decided on going to your resturant. The food and the service was wonderful. I had your seafood and loved every bite. I felt I was catered too and that was very special. I want to thank you and your staff. Can't wait to go there again.

    Hidden Treasure...

I took my boyfriend here for our 4 year anniversary. He loves seafood. I worked down the block from this restaurant for 3 years and never noticed. After searching online I decided to try it. The food was fabulous. The stuffed food is great because they don't use canned crab meat, it's fresh crab meat. The service is prompt and polite. It's a tiny cozy atmosphere, not too nosey or busy. Some of the items on the menu can be pricey, for example, Coronas. Anyway, the food is great!

How about some extra potatoes .....

Ordered tilefish in green sauce-opted for baked potato as side dish. The tilefish arrived with three boiled potatoes on the plate. I asked why I hadn't been informed of the potato accompaniment when ordering and was told not to worry cause the boiled potatoes came along gratis. An adjacent waiter understood and brought some overcooked stringbeans. The fish and potatoes tasted like bland hospital food. Also overcharged for my wife's entree.

    A bit disappointed

I knew I would have to get around to writing this review. I think every thing about this place is great. The only problem I had is the last time we were there in early June for some reason the area we were sitting was so warm that my excellent dinner was not enjoyed the way it should have been. I should have brought it to the attention of management but I did not. I will be going back again when we get to NY. But this time no matter where ever we are seated before sitting down I will make sure that area is comfortable. I hate to write anything negative about this place but I had to do it. It was extremely uncomfortable throughout the entire dinner. I definitely will go back. Great Food, Good Prices excellent seafood and Spanish dishes. Being a butcher for 50 years I can tell you they have the best Steak deals in town. We will go back and make sure they are running their air conditioner if it needs be.

Little Known Secret - Great Steaks

Most people come here to order the Daily Double Lobster. Something not well know is that El Quijote has some of the best steak in Manhattan, even better than the highly touted (and more expensive) steakhouses. Last week I had the Porterhouse steak for $26. Fantastic. Perfectly medium-rare, with a delicious crust, and excellent Prime meat, with all the extras. My wife had the lobster and loved it, but the steak is something else. You will be surprised at how good it is, the chef knows a thing or two about grilling meat. El Quijote has very good chorizo too, and I've sometimes come in and had the chorizo sandwich for a very satisfying, cheap lunch. Don't neglect the other things on the menu. They can do more than lobster.

A Dream Come True In NYC

My husband and I were thrilled with every aspect of El Quijote! The service, food and ambiance were beyond our expectations. We are native New Yorkers & know "great" when we experience it! One of the greatest compliments I can pay El Quijote is ~ everything we ordered was of the highest quality! Clams Quijote, Paella, Garlic Soup, "I cleaned each plate." All of the dishes we ordered were fabulous & the best thing about it was ~ no greasy plate or food! That is exceptional ~ especially when you eat Paella! Oh - the desserts...A+ What my husband found surprising - I usually drink cocktails, even w/dessert - It was the 1st time I changed my mind - I tasted my husband's coffee & called the waiter over & ordered not 1 but 2 cups! I've never had coffee like theirs! I'm drooling with anticipation ... for this Saturday when I enter into Quijote's Paradise once again!

Like something out of a movie!

The atmosphere was spectacular, the food was deliectible and I thought scences like this only happen in movies. Not cheap per se, but the price of food for the quality and quantity was less then expected in Manhattan. The Sangria was delish! Good food, good times and great memories, once you experience it you'll keep coming back!
