i love this place! it has got the juiciest, most flavorful baked chicken in the area and the most unbeatable price, $4.99 for lunch and $6.50 for dinner! amazing! the music does tend to be on the loud side, but i think it adds to the atmosphere. it's open 24 hours and i've never encountered a wait time. the only downside is that the waitstaff barely speak english, but they're helping me learn spanish. for those of you who are less inclined to learn languages, the entire menu is in english and spanish. and for dessert if you can fit it in (the food tends to be quite substantial), i'd recommend their milk cake - dont think that's what it's called, but that's what i know it as. just ask for it. sooo good! definitely worth every single dollar amount and more!

If you don't mind the wait, the luncheon special is the best in New York City. The luncheon menu is varied and everything is for less than $5. Sometimes the service is slow and the jukebox is loud but the place is clean and everyone is friendly. I love the pernil (roast pork), yellow rice and beans. The amount of food for your $5 is amazing. They give so much that I can make two lunches out of it. This is traditional food from the Dominican Republic and it's wonderful.

The daily lunch specials are a great deal, particularly the roasted chicken with rice and beans. Full plate of food for under $5.00! And its delicious. The service can sometimes not be superb, and the atmosphere "it was it is." But as long as you're looking for a place to get good, cheap eats and don't mind some random music blasting from the jukebox out of nowhere, definitely give this place a try!

Love this place - the value is great. The atmosphere leaves a little bit to be desired - it's a nice size place, but I could do without the jukebox playing spanish music loudly in the corner. Still tons of food for low price.
