    Can't wait to return

Been coming to El Pote for over twenty years (used to work 2 blocks away) i make it a point to eat there everytime i visit the city and it has never disappointed. local place not very fancy and probably too crowded but the food and service never miss.

    Love this place!

I've been going here for 15 years. I don't live in the city but it's worth the trip. Very consistant from food to service. I challenge anyone to find a better stuffed lobster and it's only 26 bucks! Not a fancy place but who needs that.

    Spain on my mind...

In honor of Spain winning (finally!) the World Cup, I decided to treat myself to a Spanish feast. I went the next day with a friend and had a delightful time. The best mariscada in green sauce that I've had in a long while; maybe ever. The food paired with an excellent bottle of wine recommended by the staff really quenched my craving. The whole experience transported me back to my days in Madrid.

    Paella Valenciana has no seafood

I am amazed at the ignorance of the reviewer below. The Paella Valenciana contains no seafood. It contains rabbit, chicken and often times also snails.

    They don't like children!

I went there with my guests thinking of having a good meals. I called ahead to make reservation but when we get there they said they could find our reservation. The whole place was empty but the waiters was saying " you have children! we cannot give you any table!" I called the restaurant later to complaint the incident and asked them if they have a policy that they cannot accommodate children - the answer was so relutant!

    Afternoon Delight!

I went last week with clients on their recommendation for lunch, I had never heard of the place before and was skeptical. Now looking back I can’t understand why I haven’t heard of this place, it was one of the most enjoyable lunch experiences I have ever had. Large portions of delicious garlicky concoctions, fine wine and attentive service is the standard. I will be back with my wife for dinner.

    Excellent !

We were on our first visit to NYC and it was my 62nd Birthday. Another local Bistro owner (Italian) recommended this place and we booked ahead for peak time Saturday Night. We were shown immidiatally to our table in a very full and atmospheric room. Service was good and informative, the Paella Valencia was rich and plentiful, the Seafood content high, and served very HOT! A good jug of Sangria accompanied an excellent meal. Good value too. Would certainly return if visiting NYC again.
