El Paso is the closest you're gonna get to eating authentic Mexican food in NYC (and this comes from a true Mexican). The guacamole is the best in town and they offer great variety; the tamales are also exquisite. For delivery, it's a bit expensive, but well worth the price. For dining there, make sure to make a reservation, because the table space is limited and they always seem busy! Overall a great place, highly recommended!

    This place is GREAT

I have only ordered take-out, but everything I have eaten here is awesome. The chorizo anything is my fave, the tortilla soup, tortas, burritos and the enchiladas rock. Even the salad was good. Great authentic Mexican food and fresh. Somthing about the pico de gallo that tastes awesome on everything. Delivery is really quick too.

    Best Mexican Neighborhood Feel.

LOVE this place. live down the street, I eat here at least twice a week. Best value for the serving size.. The best and cheapest margarita., Over all I would recommend the tacos/burritos/enchiladas.. Also the soups are made fresh and are among the best around. Very all very happy!

Coming from the West Coast and being pampered with divine Mexican options everywhere, I stopped even going to "mexican" restaurants in NY because everytime someone recommended one, it turned out to be disappointing greasy tex-mex. Don't get me wrong, a good burrito and nachos are great in their own right, but not when I'm craving real, healthy, authentic mexican. Now I have El Paso. I've heard of it several times, but like I said, I never even bothered until some friends dragged me yesterday to my complete delight, and it will now be my "go to" solution!!!!!!!! Hallelujah! It's the best authentic I've had in NY, everything we had (and we sampled almost everything except seafood) was delicious. I'll never go anywhere else, as El Paso answers all of my cravings when I can't make it home! Muchos gracias!!!

    artful mexican, vegetarian friendly

very, very tasty, and spicy enough to make most happy. consistantly great every time we order, and going there is pleasant too...if it weren't for el paso, we'd be cooking more (good? bad?), since there's little to nothing tasty and vegetarian in spanish harlem.
