Big portions and low prices
I eat here all the time. very authentic Dominican Cuisine, Prices are excellent for the huge portions you get (one order is enough for two). The cons Restaurant gets very crowded around lunch time so try to go early if you want to hear your companions voice over all the noise, there are no greaters at the door, you have to grab a table and wait up to 4 mins for someone to come, Service is also a little slow due to the high volume of customer per waitress ratio) but the great tasting food makes up for it. Best mofongo I've tried in the area

Best Spanish food in the neighborhood
My friends and I often come to Caridad for lunch, and they've got probably the best moderately-priced Spanish food in Washington Heights. Lunch specials typically are $5. They've got good bacalao, mofongo, chicharron de pollo, platanos maduros, and pollo guisado. The service can be spotty at times, as there often aren't enough servers working the tables, but don't let this keep you from the tasty food. The atmosphere is no different from the other Spanish restaurants in the neighborhood, but if you're a fan of baseball, check out the memorabilia.
