    Delicious

I was wandering the MEPA district, places full saw this place sitting on corner of Greenwich & Horatio Street, smelled garlic from outside. Went in sat at the bar and had 5 tapas with some estrella beer. Was awesome!

    poorpo

Chef must be new. Ordered Pulpo and was served slimey (not cleaned) rubbery (not cooked properly) plate of total disappointment. They must be using canned octopus. Never again...

Iv'e been going here since High School over 30 years ago, the atmosphere isn't the best, however, it's about the food !

    Real food for REAL PEOPLE!

I am tired of these "foodie people". They just don't get it. Real restaurants are gone in this city. You go to El Faro they remember you!!! The food is quality and I always go with the Tapas!! Entrees are good but large! Sangria is awesome. Look most places are corporate-you just treated like cattle. Want decor, Paparrzzi, scene, food presentation-go to pastisis or any other of the corp. places that have spung up. You want value, excellent food a nice portion and treated like a human being this is your place. One of the last REAL places left in the city. Foodies get REAL!!!

    Not for Paella

The Paella is eh. The other food seemed better. Skimp the paella and try some of the other dishes.

    steer clear of tapas

I went to El Faro last night and didn't read the reviews here before going. So I ordered tapas. The calamari was thickly breaded and tough. The anchovies were great. But the potatoes were just unacceptable. The prices are pretty high for what you get. The service was prompt and pleasant though. And I did like the hole in the wall, old school atmosphere. But if you've been to Spain, you know this is in no way authentic.
