    a find

yeah....this is great food, well prepared, meats are sensational in a homey atmosphere. No refinements of any kind but just delicious food. Come with a huge appetite.

    Great food - slow service

My boyfriend and I went here last night and had an amazing time. The food was terrific - and the staff was understanding about my food allergy (I'm a celiac). Even though service was extremely slow, we would definitely go back. You can't beat the prices, and everything we ate was delicious.

    Wow!!

My boyfriend and I had went to Cocotero to try it out. He's 100% Venezuelan and he wanted a taste of home. The food was delicious. Honestly. The pastelitos de queso (cheese) was MMM- GOOD! I almost had a arepa... Reina Pepiada.. which contains avocada and chicken... My god, it was soooo good! My boyfriend had the paveion crillo, excellent as well. And for our drinks, guarapita... Delicious as well. I definately do recommend this restaurant. Train station is very convinent, (right down the block). Though the place is a not so huge, it still is comfortable and the atmosphere is diverse.. I love it and I will return soon! :)

    yeah

I agree with yancy. I had almost the exact same experience: it took a while, the arepa was tough, and not that good. The platanos are underwhelming too. I wanted to like it.. I really did.

    hey y.a.n.c.y.

great food, not too good service, like you would spect back there in vzla... and the guy yancy that critizcized the food is just envyous because is not true, mediocre service but great food.

    Delectable and fun!

This is a super cozy atmosphere. The owner and hostess are very nice and lots of fun. The food is savory and delish. Try the cilantro shrimp or the goat! Such a great atmosphere!

    Great Neighborhood Haunt

The arepas are amazing with many choices for fillings. Even options for my vegetarian friends. The soups and sandwichs are delicious as well. The atmosphere is charming and very realistic to those you would find in Latin America. Although not a pretentious scene, I always see a famous face. My only fear is it becomes so popular I won't be able to get a table-as it is a small intimate space. Lucho makes you feel right at home!
