    Watch Out!

Very loud atmosphere in the back of the restaurant. They only take cash. Proportions are huge. One order will serve two. Flavor of food was lacking.

Im Second Generation my parents being first my som and Daughter are third Generation Customers of this truly Remarkable Restaurant. I've been going here since the first day it opened 40 years ago and even before that to El Farros and have never had not one bad meal. Truly amazing to perform such a feat but they do it time after time after time. Its a must try if you've never been.

    36 Years

My wife and I have been going here for 36 years. In that time, they only had 2 owners and they've maintained their excellence over that period of time, down to the simple house salad dressing. We will be going for 30+ times on New Years eve tonight. A family tradition, now with a granddaughter in tow. Never had a bad meal and have tasted most of their large, impressive menu!

    Delightful West Village place

Food ( grilled salmon, salads, clams casino, shrimp-clams-scallop paella ) was great and so was sangria.

    good service

went to el charro 2x recently and was treated very well both times. I called in advance because I can't eat garlic and they told me, no problem, the chef would cook anything to my specifications. I had the filet mignon and others had the paella. We had to wait a bit for the food - which is a good thing - it was actually cooked by a chef! it was piping hot and delicious. everyone was happy. the sangria is excellent. second time it was a bit busy but maybe that's because it was Cinco de Mayo. I love the potatoes that come with the filet - yummy. I will go back. Nice local place with good food and good service.

Went in el charro for the first time in 1967 while working at a restaurant across the street. Have eaten there ever since. Have recommend it to people from all over the world. All have thanked me. Food great, drinks great and I love the coffee el charro. If you like to enjoy great food and drinks I say go there and enjoy a great evening.
