I had the Parrillada , whish was excellent, Cerviche for starters also excellent. I found the service fine. The place is very cute and well decorated. My party was 3 we all left very pleased. I will return in the near future for sure.

the food was ok, the place is cute. the service was lacking. the servers had no clue what was what. my meal (we were 7) never made it. my friend got the wrong dish... no one seem to care... and the bill was over $400. n

My husband and I live close by and have been going to this place for dinner and brunch plenty of times. The food is good, but the service is poor! Last time we went for brunch the "hostess" acted increadibly snotty, when we asked if there were any tables availble outside.. (the place wasn't even packed) she answered, didnt even look at us just said NO. After us two older gentlemen walked in and asked the same question, this time she smiled and said, "let me check!" since all the tables were full outside she apologized and said that something might be available in 10 min!? Not ok.. We felt extremely hurt and have been telling all of our friends in the area NOT to go there again. Not only because of this incident, we also ordered a pitcher of sangria, by accident the waitress spilled a big portion of it in my husbands lap, and she barley apologized and we had to ask for napkins!! There are so many places in the area that serve good steak where they treat their customers right! So never again will we recomend anyone this place!

The quality of food here is really amazing. From the salads to the meats it's top notch. It's a small joint, so be prepared to cram in. The place fills up really fast, so unfort, if you arrive when there are no tables avail, you may have to dine at an alternate location if you don't want to wait 20 - 40 mins. The friendliness of the service is hit or miss. I've had some really amazing and sweet waiters/waitresses, but others have been not so superb. If you're a chill person though, you prob won't have a problem. My FAVs are the Porter House steak, the Murcilla, the avocado fries, any of the ceviches, any of the salads....the truffle fries, the sangria...oh...it's pretty much all really GOOD! Pricy? A bit, but when shared with a friend it's filling, affordable (for NYC standards), and worth it! When my mom comes to town we always make a trip to "the Argentine".

Look like reviewers like this girl camila they talk more of the staff than the food ,they describe even the haircut of the manager ,oh god! What's wrong with the people ! The almacen have very good food and of course the meat is excellent ,nice malbec's and the ser vice is good ,the decor is amazing and very good argentine music.

My meal was ok, the place was packed and the servers(mostly females) are not the fastest. I felt rushed for my table at the end. MAnager guy with fake mohawk handed me my jacket and he way too much cologne on. It is all I smelt whle we ate, He would walk by and joke that he is all we could smell. Bruncj is better than dinner, An apps are better than mains.

My wife and i have been to El Almacen a number of times over the last few years and have found it to be good however after todays experience i will definitely not be going back. We ordered the following a mixed plate of cheese and charcuterie that was good as usual then i ordered the burger and my wife the sweetbreads The sweetbreads had not had any of the connecting tissue removed from them and had not been trimmed as is necessary my wife left most of her dish and was no longer feeling hungry understandably The burger that i ordered seemed ok to start till i found a small piece of bone about the size of a pea i thought ok things happen the next bite i got a much larger chunk of bone and fat and grizzle about the size of an almond i put the burger down and did not eat any more about half was left i finished off the salad and fries and left the half burger and unappetizing bits on the plate my server asked if everything was ok i explained the above to her she apologized and offered me another burger witch i refused When it came to bill time i expected to not be charged for the burger and sweetbreads however the sweetbreads were all that was removed from the bill after i explained i felt this was not right all that happened was i got lots of i am sorry and we offered you another burger apologies from my server My wife had a problem with an overcooked steak the time before but we thought we would give them the benefit of another try but after todays experience i feel i can no longer go back
