    Too much hype

It's a good brunch place but if you go on the weekend expect to wait on line for at least half an hour. I usually stick with the breakfast foods which is good (you can't really mess up eggs) but slightly overpriced...though when you go to a super busy place like this at least you know they must be doing something right. Coffee is excellent.

    Delicious diner food!

EJ's is one of those quintessential Upper East Side places that everyone goes to for brunch or orders out when they're hungry. Weekends are always busy and expect a wait (although it goes fast). The food is always delicious, and it is an "upscale diner" sort of place. Fabulous crunchy french toast, great daily specials, yummy sweet potato fries! Service is fast. The atmosphere is very diner-looking and crowded, but no one really cares when the food is so good.

    It's a diner!

Can not expect gourmet food at a diner but as far as diners go delivery is fantastic, food quality always excellent and menu a bit redundent but still better than most local diners - especially googies.

    Honestly not that great.

I cannot understand why EJ's has a line out the door and around the corner every weekend. It's just not that great! Believing the hype I had brunch here with a few friends, and we were all pretty disappointed with our meals and service. Standard diner fare in a fancier setting with much higher prices. OK waffles, pancakes, burgers, omelettes, nothing to write home about. Glasses were dirty when given to us and our waiter came by once to take our order and never again. Next time I'll visit a more mainstream diner for better food, better service and lower prices.

    Love the shakes

EJ's has the greatest milkshakes. The omelettes are good and things are reasonably priced. I highly recommend brunch here. Decent neighborhood place...

    Fancy Diner

This is a fancy diner for the people who are tired of the regular priced diner. My biggest compliant is they have no American Cheese. So no burgers or omelets with American cheese or tuna melts. Its just moronic not to have American Cheese at a diner! And they don't give you the enter milkshake in the metal cup like regular diners do. Over all it gets a thumbs down from me but to be fair the food is decent.
