Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop
Posted by MAXIMILIAN on 05/25/2010
C'mon! You cannot beat Eisenberg's! It is an old New York staple. They make simple, cheap sandwiches. Stop in, grab a spot at the counter and have some eggs, maybe some coffee, or perhaps an egg cream and leave with money in your wallet. The place itself has tons of old world charm. The whole place is turning brown because of years of hot griddles, steaming coffee pots and probably at one point, people smoking cigarettes by the truck loads. I always get an egg sandwich and coffee, served by a friendly staff member who's usually doing five things at once. I sent some friends here from New Zealand and they said it was the perfect start to their NYC trip. Recommended.

Eisenbergs Sandy shop is possibly my favorite lunch in the area. The Egg Salad and Tuna Sandwiches are my most frequented. Delivery is quick, Josh is quick and nice on the phone, and the sanwich comes fresh and not too expensive. My only issue with the place is that they spell it Shop and not Shoppe. I feel its Olden enough to justify the Shoppe moniker. Bill Eisenberg NYC

Small sammies, little flavor, all hype. One and done with this place living off its rep.

The breakfast bagels are to die for. And they always have quick delivery!

I have only discovered Eisenberg's this past year through word of mouth but this is the best place ever! I've yet to order something I did not love. I love going and sitting at the counter or even taking in. The people are wonderful, I've been there a million times and never once had any attitude from anyone. I suggest going there and enjoying the best food around.

This place has it all, it gives you the feel of an olde tyme sandwich shop. I recommend the whitefish salad, egg salad and tuna. Delivery is very quick, but I would advise eating in, the place is a gem.

Amidst the the hustle and bustle of 5th Avenue in the Flatiron District, a little hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop stands, immortalized in time, untouched by the trends of current eateries. The food is simple, down to earth, and delicious. The service is friendly, sincere, and unpretentious. I ordered the tuna salad on whole wheat toast and a chocolate egg cream. Both came quickly, with no frills, and tasted exactly as it should--good. I love this place. It's a nice haven, a sanctuary from all the glitz and gentrification that has washed over Manhattan. I would come here again and again, if only to savor a nice trip back in time.
