I am a regular customer at this restarant. this is the most inexpensive japanese restaurant in Manhattan. Also, the owner and the waiter treat all customers as members of an extended family.

I've tried their Spider roll, tempura, salmon skin handroll, and oyster kakifry. The soft shell crab in the spider roll is fried with a subpar recipe for batter. The Spider roll's crab tasted like it was fried with a tempura batter. It was not good. The vegetable tempura is standard, but the shrimp tempura tasted like fake frozen shrimp. The salmon skin handroll was good, but there was no need for the BBQ sauce. It isn't traditional, but it was inventive. The oyter kakifry was good. All in all, prompt delivery, standard tempura, salmon skin handroll, and oyster kakifry, and poor Spider roll.

Excellent food and value. Service may not be perfect, but it's lame to complain about it when you consider how good the food is, and how reasonably priced.

I went there for lunch about half a dozen times; the food was tasty and the service was good. However dinner was a totaly different experience. I went there with my wife, figuring the relaxed atmosphere woudl be a nice change. The waitress lectured me when I asked for a window table. She couldn't get a straight menu order correctly, and rolled her eyes a few times. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I never went back to find out.
