    Pretty good Sunday Brunch

I visisted this establishment after seeing it on EatOut NY. I was very pleased w/my omelette and my boyfriend was pleased with the stuffed French toast which is what drew me there. Anyone who likes french toast, ice cream and bananas should try it. It was a bit crowded our table were a bit close together but other than that teh atmosphere was pretty good if you don't mind a bit of noise. The only complaint that I have other than the close quarters would be that they need to clean their menus. There were dried unidentifiable bits of food on ours. I will definitely go back for brunch though.

    Buttermilk dressing or curdled milk?

Let me just begin by saying that the job of a salad dressing is to season greens that are bland. It should have some sort of flavor, whether it is sweet/salty/or tart. I ordered their adobe salad and i took one bite and was digusted because it tasted like it was slathered with honey. I asked the overly gregarious waiter to give me a dressing that doesn't taste like candy and he said that the only non-sweet dressing is the buttermilk dressing. He said that most of the dressings are sweet, but that one is more bland. Anyways, when the dressing came, i laughed because the waitor was so right, it was bland. It had no salt, no sugar, no vinegar, no mayo and absolutely no flavor. It was literally just curdled milk...yuck. I was expecting some southern ranch like white and creamy dressing, but what i got was some rancid milk. The salad dressing absolutely makes or breaks the salad, and my salad was ruined bc their dressings...Everything was consistently subpar. My sister got the veggie burger and the sweet potato fries. Mushroom emapanada was a pizza dough filled with mix of fungi and then deep fried and served with a sauce and dousted with soooo much cornmeal: (The service wasn't good either...the kid kept coming around every 10 minutes and kept on bothering me and my sister. And what the person before me said about not being able to alter the menu bc it challenges the integrity of the dishes cooked up by brilliant chefs? What a joke...What chef? This fare is obviously not cooked up by someone who has any kind of culinary background or interest. Never again...Don't go here...You'd have better luck at a regular diner or cooking for yourself.

    Not good...

Eatery’s brunch is passable, but it is pretty hard to mess up a toasted bagel and lox. However, the rest of the food is truly below par: their empanadas appetizer tastes like it comes out of a box in the fridge; their burgers are so salty it makes me question the quality of the meat; their steak is also subpar. Frankly, the only reason I think people come here is because it is a bit of a scene and boasts a wide variety of hip cocktails. After taking a friend to dinner at Eatery, I had to apologize. This place has a long way to go to reach the level of quality food that would make it worthwhile to deal with the attitude of the staff. Thumbs down.

    Pretentious restaurant

I love the food here and frequent the restaurant, as I live a block away. Lately, though, I have had a couple of bad experiences with the pretentiousness of this establishment: 1. I asked to make a substitution on a sandwich, which they would not do because it would affect the chef's "creation". 2. Recently, I stopped in for brunch on a casual summer day. I was wearing a cute top and cutoff shorts. I gave my name to the hostess, after which she took a step back and looked me up and down to examine my outfit. I felt she was about to say I wasn't dressed appropriately but she stopped. Needless to say, my friend and I left, passing two guys dining in wife beaters. 3. The staff rarely says thank you for coming in upon your leaving, even though they are standing right there. It is as if you just waltz out unnoticed that you have spent $30 in their restaurant. The food is good but I'm not sure it is worth the unpleasant experience of the establishment. Perhaps next time I will just order it in.

    Depends on what you order

I recently moved away from the area to which Eatery would deliver, and I miss it! I ate there a couple times and go delivery a lot. I must say it was my favorite place for delivery. I think it really just depends on what you aorder and what your tastes are. I regularly would order the calamari and the duck tostada. The duck tostada is excellent! The ice cream sandwich dessert is good. The Peking chicken with black rice is good. Tuna is also good. The brunch is very creative and good. The Pock tostada with eggs is excellent. Go try the place and decide for yourself. They deliver brunch until 3pm on weekends! The delivery people keep all of your info on file and are very nice and very quick!

    Not recommended

This place is better for delivery than it is for dining in. They are a mediocre place that is trying to be trendy. The wait staff is rude and the food is not worth the wait.

    Way more than I expected

I went to this place for brunch one Sunday. I didn't expect much - thought it was another trying-to-be-trendy place with mediocre food, but once we got past the crowd at the door, we were treated to the one of the best and least pretentious brunches I've had at any price. That's where the real surprise comes in, the bill came back at ~$20/person including a few bloody marys. This is the only review I've writen on Menupages, and its because I thought I had to counter some of the lukewarm reviews I read below.
