    Overall good

We started with the sweet potato and corn empanadas. They were OK, cooked nicely, with a mild flavor, I expected more but couldn't complain much. My GF had the meatloaf. Eatery's meatloaf was nothing special at all. The meat was OK, average homemade tasting meatloaf, the potatos actually tasted like mix mashed and she said the broccoli was overcooked. Overall she ate it, but didn't really enjoy it. I on the other hand had the Tender beef medallions with speghetti squash and truffle mashed. The whole dish was great, and even though it was a fair sized portion I liked it so much I could have ate another portion. This dish alone is why I've given the food rating a 4 otherwise it would have been a 3. Dessert was banana spring rolls they were good and enjoyable, not amazing but good. So the food is overall good, but I wouldn't recommend the meatloaf. The place itself has a nice neighborhood trendy feel to it, both decor and crowd. The tables are a little too close together which I didn't care for, but a lot of small places do this to maximize seating which I can understand to a degree. Service was only a little above average simply because they were well informed about the dishes. Overall, I would go again, although I would find it hard not to order the same dish because mine was so good. For the price, (no alcohol) tax and tip included for 2 was $75 so not terrible at all. I say give it a try and if you don't like it try it once more and you still won't have lost much.

    Good Food- Mediocre Service

Went there on my b-day, 2/23. There were 5 of us and we made a reservation for 9pm but did not get seated until 9:45. We were told by the host that we would be seated in a booth next to the window but instead they stuck us in the back of the restaurant by the restrooms and had given our original table to another party who came in after us. The food is okay. I ordered the sirloin burger with sweet potato fries. The burger melted in my mouth but the fries were a little over cooked. The waiter we had placed the wrong order for one of my friends and we sent it back and by the time his dish was ready the rest of us had already finished our meal. I would probably go back to give them another chance.

    You Can't Eat Attitude

This place is Number One on my list of never again. The food wasn't awful. But the service was not good. Our server made it clear he had better things to do than wait on us, and was cold to the point of being rude. The food tasted alright, although it wasn't anything special and certainly wasn't memorable. We were offered no refills on beverages, and they practically yanked forks out of our mouths in an effort to clear the plates, shove us out the door and turn the table. There are a hundred good restaurants on 9th Avenue in Midtown. My suggestion is go to another one. ANY other one.

    Eat Here!

What a fun restaurant! Loved the modern decor and the cute waiters - they really knock themselves out providing great service. I had their Mac 'n Cheese and it was soooo good.

    Great anytime

I've eaten here a handful of times, and I'm always happy with the food and drinks. But I just had to write to give a shout-out to the staff. They're always as accommodating as they can be (given the space limitations), and I've gotten a free drink more than once because of prolonged waits. Now THAT's how to keep your customers coming back!

    Real Good!

Simple and great. I love the Vermont Cheddar Meatloaf. They have awesome martinis too. Four of us ate and I thought the bill would be so much more. Definitley go here if your from the area.

    Comfort and Joy

Eatery is the place to go for mom's cooking with a twist. the meatloaf with buttermilk mash potatoes that melt in your mouth - um and yummy. my mom never did "chipotle spiked anything". Then there's the mac and jack - cheese glorious cheese - this stuff is downright addictive and don't forget to wear ur big girl pants b/c stuffed u will be; and you don't have to clean ur plate to get dessert, - chocolate banana spring roll - deep fried dough with chocolate and banana - with a strawberry sorbet - need i say more? and it travels well. added bonus - the cocktails specifically the pomegrante pear martini - goes down smooth. come for the food or order in on those rainy nites when cooking is not an option, in or out - the best place for "mom's cooking" on 9th avenue. oh and did i mention that they deliver wine and beer - that's right no more late nite wine store runs for this girl - just call eatery.
