    Best casual dinner on 9th

I eat here at least once a week. Everyone I've taken with loves what they get. The presentation is as good as the food. I normally get the peanut dusted salmon and a calamari appetizer (comes with a delicious citrus sauce). Service is normally professional and quick, but I always get poor service when sitting at the bar. Very popular -- I suggest going after 9pm.

    Pretttty good

Southwestern Chicken Panini is great! However the turkey burger is more like a big slab of turkey meatloaf on a roll. Not a fan of it. And the salads are great, but definitely not healthy.

    Delicious

We walked by Eatery on a Tuesday evening and decided to stop in after reviewing the menu. We were very happy with the casual, upscale comfort food menu. I had the duck flatbread as an appetizer, which had delightful layers of flavor. My entree salad (adobe chicken) was large and had two dressings that added a sweet richness. My husband had the white cheddar meatloaf, which was simply wonderful. Will definitely go back.

    Rude service

I've been to Eatery many times and I've always been happy with the food. I went for lunch today with a friend and the service was extremely rude. My friend was late in meeting me so I was sitting at a table outside waiting for him. To my own defense, I wasn't holding up any tables by waiting for him because there were available tables around me, and there was never anyone waiting for a table. The manager came over to me numerous times to ask if my friend was going to come, and kept watching me as if there was a line of people waiting for my table. He was not friendly to me, and acted annoyed. It got to the point where I wanted to go inside and tell the manager that he was making me uncomfortable and that if he didn't want my service, I would leave. I had already ordered a drink but was ready to leave and have my friend meet me somewhere else. When my friend showed up, the waitress and waiter who served us were both rude to us. We were extra friendly to them, feeling bad that it took us so long to order. After my generous friend tipped 20%, the waiter came over to refill our water and we thanked him telling him that we were actually on our way out so we were all set. He just turned and walked away, not even thanking us or saying goodbye. Because of this occurance, I will never go back there, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. I don't know how a restaurant can treat customers like this, especially in this economy and when there are plenty of better places to go to in NYC. Eatery would do better if they hired new management.

    Original food and tasty

The food was rather original and memorable. My b/f had the steak on very black rice and was very good. I had the curry chicken and it was on top of puff pastry pancakes with curry on the side and was a very original dish - I couldn't place it as one specific country. The red curry reminded me of Thai, but the pancakes reminded me of India, and the chicken reminded me of French. The drinks were rather expensive. The GG vodka/lychee cocktail was NOT very good nor smooth, though it was strong. The Rain Riesling afterward was excellent! The architecture is very cool too. Would go back & bring friends.

    Great Hell's Kitchen Spot

This is my third time back to Eatery and every time I am impressed. They have amazing martinis and honeslty the amount of food you get is great for the buck. Very cool wine selection too!

    not kid friendly

I arranged to meet 2 friends after work at 6pm on Tuesday March 3rd. I felt this would be suitable time to dine as my 18 month old son would be there too. On arrival at Eatery I observed that the restaurant was very quiet and requested a table for 4 as the other members would be arriving in a matter of moments. The lady operating the front of house refused to sit us until at least one other member of our party arrived and asked us to wait under a heater in the bar. It was unclear why she requested this as it did not seem an appropriate setting for a young child who was immaculately behaved. Shortly after I approached the front of house area to request that we be seated because by this time we were feeling very hot and wanted to remove our jackets to get comfortable for our meal. I practically had to shout to get someone's attention to speak with us even though there were 4 members of staff huddled around having a private conversation. A male member of staff reluctantly sat us. We had been placed in the back corner of the restaurant as far as possible from any other diners. The table was cramped and nowhere near a window for my son to look out of. I felt insulted by this and completely unwelcome at the restaurant. At this point I politely made my excuses and departed.
