Service Issues
I found the food to be good, we were a party of four and found the service to be poor, asked for the manager who be less then helpful.

Great food, nice people
I was apprehensive about taking four out-of-town senior citizen here for dinner before "Jersey Boys" but it seemed the safest bet close to that theater and I knew the food was excellent from other visits. But I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and attentive the waitress and manager were--they gave us a perfect, quiet booth in the back and dealt with all the diners' special requests and questions. We weren't rushed at all although it was prime pre-theater time. I can't remember the last time waitstaff in New York were so friendly and had no "attitude." Everyone loved their food--chicken ravioli for me, burgers for most others. The holiday decor was nice, too.

Waiter broke my credit card!
Went for dinner - the food was pretty good, and I had never had a problem with the place before. But we had a terrible waiter. He was pushy for our order, and he snapped his book shut really loudly every time he walked away from our table. We ignored that at first until I gave him my credit card. He slammed his book shut after taking it and walked away. When I got my card back, The card was cracked right through the middle of the magnetic stripe. There was only about a 1/2 inch of platic still holding it together. Unbelievable. I asked for the manager and told him that the waiter broke my credit card and that he needed to be more careful. The manager took it away for a minute and then returned and said, "Sorry - nothing we can do about that". I just left. I wasn't expecting anything from the place, but at least a sincere apology for breaking my card would have been nice. My advice: there are better spots in New York, but if you eat here, pay in cash!

Great Experience!
We decided to try Eatery for a special dinner to celebrate my son's graduation from Middle School (his choice!). We couldn't have been happier! We made a reservation in advance and got a terrific table by the window. The service was excellent and attentive without being overbearing. We split a hummus appetizer; there was plenty for three, as there was for the recommended cheesecake for dessert. The food was tasty and different. All in all, a terrific experience, great food and service, a very nice value for the money. Don't go expecting a super-sophisticated midtown pre-theater dining experience; it's a bustling, sleek and hip place and we will definitely be back.

Good Brunch
I usually frequent Eatery for Brunch/lunch, which I think is better than their dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and informative of what is on the menu. The food always arrives in a decent amount of time, and to me is always delicious and fresh. So far I have always had a good experience here and will keep returning considering I live 3 blocks away.

Expecting More
So I finally made it to Eatery after passing by for the past few years. Was in the neighborhood looking for a late evening dinner and thought this would be a great time. Boy was I WRONG!! Was I expecting more food for the price, I think I was. Had the Meatloaf and was appalled to see just one piece of loaf over a spoonful of mash that wern't even seasoned. My wife had the "special of the night" flank steak and was laughing when she saw 5 slices of 3 inch length steak over some apple slaw(which cost $20). The best part of the dish was the slaw. I mean come on flank's are not even that expense so maybe the quantity could be a lot better. Since we were expecting larger quantites we were forced to order a side of fries which came out with a burnt taste. Of course we had to ask for salt and ketchup which took an additional 10 mins to get. Aren't condiment located on nearby wait stations? Anyway I definitely will not be going to this place again.

great for pretheater
Went to see Jersey Boys Saturday night with my husband and another couple and it was freezing so we were looking for a place close by. Happened to find this place and it was really great. We ordered the quesidela and the adobo salad and the beef tenderloin everything was really fresh and tasty. You have to order the cheesecake for dessert by far one of the best I ever had. I highly recommend it and we felt that it was priced right.
