    Gem in Hell's Kitchen

Amist the plethora of food choices on 9th Avenue, the Eatery Restaurant is a true gem. Unlike most restaurants in the city, the Eatery transforms itself from a lunch/brunch spot to a nocturnal locale. It's impossible to walk past this levely establishment without feeling its pulse. The Eatery attracts everyone from multigenerational families to hot young couples (with the occasional celeb sighting). The wait staff is upbeat, attentive, and knowledgeable. As for the food, the bannana, chocolate, and cream cheese stuffed french toast will cure any hangover. The mac and jack is a deliciously cheesy new take on a classic American dish that will satisfy any appetite. At dinner prepare yourself for the wok flashed tequilla shrimp, the perfect mix of fried goodness with seafood bliss. The Eatery truly offers something for everyone.

    Well done!

My wife and I stopped in at Eatery before a show and were really pleased that we did. Service was very friendly and efficient and the menu was right on with lots of choices and extremely reasonable prices. Especially considering how large the portions were. Try the Chipotle Meatloaf if you go!!

Not the mac n cheese i expected

I kept hearing about the incredible mac n cheese here and, having not found any that really satisfied me elsewhere in the city, i finally went. what a letdown! it was too thick and not creamy, almost crumbly, tasted bitter, and was so heavy (along with being unsavory) i took most of it home. i hoped it would taste better the next day...not so much. the toasted onions on top did not help. both my boyfriend and i were disappointed. to me, this is another example of people in manhattan thinking that just because something is hyped, expensive, and tastes unique, it must be good.

    Thank God for the Eatery!

I finally found my place to hang in Hell’s Kitchen! Just when I thought that I was about to give up hope on finding a place to meet with my friends before we go out for the night, I came across the Eatery restaurant. My favorite things about this place is that it’s not painfully filled with posers, the food is awesome, and the staff is so informative and friendly. My first time there I had the tuna entrée which was seared perfectly. It was just right for a summer night. Not too mention the 2 Ruby Slipper martinis I had along with it! The new Absolut ruby red is too good it’s scary! I actually came back that weekend for brunch. Even though it was busy, I still felt welcomed and loved my Fellini along with my crab cake benedict. It’s great to know that some places still appreciate their customers. People just want to go out and have excellent food, get friendly service, have a fun time and still be able to afford the other things that the city has to offer. The Eatery gets it and that’s why we will definitely be back!

hells kitchen never had it so good!

Every time i eat here, i have a blast. eatery has one of the best menu's in hells kitchen. tastefully blending comfort food and global fusion -- there's something for everyone and something to satisfy any craving. the chipotle meatloaf with jack fondue is unreal and the wok-flashed tequila shrimp with corn, jack cheese and poblano stuffed flautas are off the hook! even the salads, like the southwestern style adobe salad and the grilled asian chicken salads hit the spot. they have a good selection of appetizers too, so it's really easy to mix and match what you're hungry for. the staff is cool and friendly, and always game to suggest -- which i love. they have a chocolate banana spring-roll for dessert that will make you forget that you've ever had another sweet in your life! nightly menu specials are exceptional and creative, they also do nightly wine and cocktail specials that rule! ps -- the cafe is open and packed in the summer -- best seat in HK dining!

    An amazing Dining Experience

I recently was advised to try a local hot spot in Hell's Kitchen- Eatery Restaurant on 9th and 53rd. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this local hangout had amazing food and equally as impressive service. The decor and atmosphere were comfortable and contemporary. The service was outstanding and friendly(our server took the time to explain every menu item we had questions on, and even took time to direct us to some local bars to head to after the meal), and the food was to die for. My date and I both started with the Grilled Asian Chicken Salad (on the recommendation of our server) which was a delicious and creative take on pan asian cuisine, I especially liked the fried egg roll skin in the salad. For an entree, I tried the Ravioli, cooked to perfection and stuffed with eggplant, ricotta, and chicken and served in a succulent sage butter sauce. My date had another Asian dish, the Peking Chicken, served with a black sticky rice that I found extremely unique and flavorful! For dessert we shared a dish of Chocolate Bannana Spring Rolls which was the perfect end to out already outstanding meal. While we didn't have anything off the extensive wine list, I had a watermelontini (with a watermelon wedge in the drink) and my date had the lavender saketini. I will certainly be making Eatery one of my main haunts now, and have been telling everyone about what a great experience I had there.

    Grilled Asian Chicken Salad

The Asian Salad is the Bomb! I'm hooked and I need my fix at least twice a week. Other menu items are great...the adobe salad comes close. Best restaurant in the kitchen!
