    Priced for Madison Ave

The bread is wonderful -period. The food is good-period. The sevice and atmosphere are o.k.-period. So if you are willing to help the restaurant pay the hefty madison ave. rent resulting in food beyond high-priced- enjoy!

    Overpriced

How can you justify charging $14.50 for a grilled cheese sandwich?

    Great location, great food

Wonderful location for a weekend lunch, and the food (which admittedly is overpriced) is a cut above standard cafe fare. The salads are amongst the freshest and tastiest I've had (try a mixed salad plate, where you can sample two or three of their salads for $18.50). The tomato and prosciutto salad was fantastic, as was the pasta, basil and tomato salad. Their quiche is also very good. Fast, efficient service, and whilst the place does get packed, the tables aren't as cramped as other diners in the area. Highly recommended!

    Good, but NOT that good

The food is very good at E.A.T. , however the prices are unbelievable! It's not that you cannot afford it, but who wants to spend 14-18 dollars on a sandwich? You can go to Fairway and buy lbs. of good cold cuts and cheeses and make 20 sandwiches for the price of one at this restaurant. I say eat here if every where else is closed in the neighborhood. I just warn you that you will surely be shocked by the bill if you eat at E.A.T. , because the atmosphere is very plain and underving of your money.
