Best London broil and salads in the UES!

Everything here is good except the fish sandwich

    disappointing!

They serve breakfast all day, which was a plus, and I really wasn't expecting much. But the omelettes are stuffed with Velveeta cheese and dry bacon. And the mac and cheese, one of the lunch specials, was also made with horrific amounts of fake cheese and dry noodles -- really, messing up mac and cheese? I'm a recent college grad, and trust me I've eaten at some gross dive joints, but this place will definitely not get a second visit.

    Surprisingly Tasty and Excellent Value

We have been here twice in the last week. Someone in the kitchen knows how to cook. I am not a fan of london broil, but, my wife ordered it and it was delicious - juicy, flavorful, not overly marinated. The half chicken and chopped steak with onions were better than expected - some clever seasoning. I often find the attention paid to the side dishes telling. The green beans were not overcooked, more like haricot vert, overcame my disappointment that they had run out of brussel sprouts. The beets with onions prior to the bread being brought to the table was a nice touch. The sauteed onions were not greasy and and the cauliflower with cheese sauce was not too cheesy or heavy - you could taste the cauliflower. The chicken consomme with vegetables or rice was a treat. The wait staff and busboy was attentive - water was refilled without asking. Dinner specials are an unbeatable value.

    basically what you would expect

the food was pretty decent considering it's a diner, but things aren't always what they seem there. They sell Buffalo Wings (mild, med, hot), but when you actually get them they're simply fried wings with NO sauce. Again, despite that, they were still relatively tasty...just not what we ordered.
