not worth your time
This place is the classic tourist trap. There is absolutely nothing to recommend it, unless you're drunk in advance.

Excellent sea food!
Wonderful sea food dishes - the sea food tortelini is amazing. Best I've ever had.

Good! Good! Good!
The food, decor, service and reasonableness of prices were all well above average. We ate there twice over an 8 day stay, and everythong we had was excellant.

fabulous fresh fish
Fresh fish..we had raw tuna..wonderful!! the scallops appetizer with broccoli rabe was enchanting and oh the branzino was orgasmic. bread was fresh and like that found in tuscany. the atmosphere is adorable. immaculate! reminded me of a good italian restaurant on the adriatic in the marche region of italy. a real find....will go back to try everything on the menu...by the way the prices were so moderate.

nice little spot near Rockefeller Univ.
They say it is hard to find good restaurants on the Upper East Side. Don't know what people are complaining about. This is a gem of a place, with a very nice, romantic atmosphere, possibility of dining outside or, better, looking out from a really large window, and excellent food. And the price is right too!

Food Good, Service Subpar
We went to East River Cafe last night after reading some of the rave reviews online. The atmosphere is very quaint and cute. A live piano player, and people at the bar. The service was not what it should have been for a $100 meal. By boyfriend and I are young, 23, and the waiter didn't take us seriously. He didn't even offer us a wine list, and we had to ask for it. After ordering a bottle of wine he told the specials very informally and didn't seem to think that we would order anything more than an entree. We had a prosciutto melon salad ($12) for way too much money and two different types of gnocchi for or main course. The gnocchi was delicious, even though mine was cold. The tiramisu was okay, nothing special. Overall good food, unpleasant and judging service.
