    Great Experience

We finally tried East End Kitchen...I was a bit nervous since some of the reviews were poor, but I am very happy to say we had a lovely evening on Wednesday night. The food was great, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was just lovely. This is a great neighborhood spot, and we look forward to returning.

Could be, should be so much better.

Weekday lunch, 5 tables occupied, took 30 mins to get a sandwich and salad. No apologies, server checked in with us once. I can be patient if there is an amazing meal at the end of a long wait. Sadly, the food was mediocre, at best. Grilled chicken on cesar was unseasoned and dry. Sandwich could have been put together at home by my 10 yr old with 4 store bought ingredients. The "homemade chips" they are so proud about were oily, soggy , unseasoned and even the natural potato flavor was burnt out of them. I am waiting for this place to shut down so I can take it over and make this place what it could be and should be: a neighborhood gem.

    Great Find

So I happened upon this little restaurant on my way to walk along the East River... so I headed back for dinner on Sunday night. The crowd was thin but I chose to sit at the bar and ordered the mussels with fries, didn't take advantage of the Sunday special mussels that comes with a beer and instead opted for wine. The bartender let me taste 2 kinds before I made my decision, he made two great recommendations. Good food, good service.

    sunday night

Went here for the Sunday night $15 specials. Burger/fries or fish/chips or mussels/fries & a beer. Good value. Burgers and fish were good. Could have been a little more generous with the fries and fish. Place filled up early on Sunday night by 6:30pm. Wait staff is very nice but seems a little confused, especially when the place gets crowded. They also need to move the furniture around. Large parties in the center of the space make moving impossible for guests and staff.

    Very nice place

Went for dinner and took advantage of the half priced wine. Food was good, service attentive. And for those who prefer small portions, the restaurant offers half portions. The chef is great and our hostess was lovely

    High hopes!

I had been waiting forever for a restaurant on EEA, but after eating here multiple times - I'm finally admitting I'm disappointed. The good news, the coffee is delicious, as are the soups and salads. The bad news, even if humanely sourced, the meats aren't - steak was gristly. Dinner service is incredibly slow. The short story, go for a quiet weekday lunch as the staff is lovely, attentive, the kitchen is quick, and the meat choices are limited. Try the coffee and expect to pay too much.

Very slow kitchen. Good food but poor service.

I do hope this restaurant is reading reviews here and taking note on the recurring comments about how super slow the service is and how the staff could use some work. The dining room is very nice, open, very country b&b feel. Got our coffee & drinks right away. The food however, took over 40 minutes! French toast and an omlette, 40+ minutes! A waitress tried to blame our long wait on our waiter, because he was "new," but I don't think it was not his fault. Because when we finally did get our food it was hot and very good. So it wasn't like it was sitting there a while before he got it. NO food was coming out of that kitchen--they have the slowest cooks. Another note: the menu was a bit disappointing, the only non-savory item was French Toast. So if you're craving something sweet, that's it. And all the egg dishes had cheese or onions mixed into them.
