    Great Find

So I happened upon this little restaurant on my way to walk along the East River... so I headed back for dinner on Sunday night. The crowd was thin but I chose to sit at the bar and ordered the mussels with fries, didn't take advantage of the Sunday special mussels that comes with a beer and instead opted for wine. The bartender let me taste 2 kinds before I made my decision, he made two great recommendations. Good food, good service.

    sunday night

Went here for the Sunday night $15 specials. Burger/fries or fish/chips or mussels/fries & a beer. Good value. Burgers and fish were good. Could have been a little more generous with the fries and fish. Place filled up early on Sunday night by 6:30pm. Wait staff is very nice but seems a little confused, especially when the place gets crowded. They also need to move the furniture around. Large parties in the center of the space make moving impossible for guests and staff.

    Very nice place

Went for dinner and took advantage of the half priced wine. Food was good, service attentive. And for those who prefer small portions, the restaurant offers half portions. The chef is great and our hostess was lovely

    High hopes!

I had been waiting forever for a restaurant on EEA, but after eating here multiple times - I'm finally admitting I'm disappointed. The good news, the coffee is delicious, as are the soups and salads. The bad news, even if humanely sourced, the meats aren't - steak was gristly. Dinner service is incredibly slow. The short story, go for a quiet weekday lunch as the staff is lovely, attentive, the kitchen is quick, and the meat choices are limited. Try the coffee and expect to pay too much.

Very slow kitchen. Good food but poor service.

I do hope this restaurant is reading reviews here and taking note on the recurring comments about how super slow the service is and how the staff could use some work. The dining room is very nice, open, very country b&b feel. Got our coffee & drinks right away. The food however, took over 40 minutes! French toast and an omlette, 40+ minutes! A waitress tried to blame our long wait on our waiter, because he was "new," but I don't think it was not his fault. Because when we finally did get our food it was hot and very good. So it wasn't like it was sitting there a while before he got it. NO food was coming out of that kitchen--they have the slowest cooks. Another note: the menu was a bit disappointing, the only non-savory item was French Toast. So if you're craving something sweet, that's it. And all the egg dishes had cheese or onions mixed into them.

    In response to Jeff

I had a poor experience with the last 'chef' at this restaurant. I can happily report that I enjoyed a super new year's dinner on Saturday. The new chef and the new menu is awesome!

    Poor service, good food

Was very impressed when I walked in because the place is really nice and the food looked great. We sat down and waited almost ten minutes for the 'waitress' to come take our drink order. About 15 minutes later we had to ask if we could order. About 15 minutes after that we asked if our coffee's were coming and the waitress said she will check on them. She brought one and said the other was still be made. It's freaking coffee dude. Seriously. We finally got to order and waited about 45 minute for 2 omelets. The waitress came by maybe twice because we were staring at her and said she was sorry but didn't bring us anything to eat while we waited. Our eggs finally came and my friend's omelet was wrong and the bread was 'coming right out'. Ten minutes later the waitress said the bread was just in the toaster. Ten minutes later the bread came out, but was wrong. Instead of taking it away she just left it there. My friend pointed out that her omelet was wrong and asked that she not be charged for the onions she did not get, but when the bill came the charge was there. When I informed the waitress that it was difficult to believe that we waited an hour and 45 minutes for omelets, she apologized again and said they were short-staffed, at which point I looked around and pointed out that there were four waitresses and 6 table with customers. She fixed the bill and comped our coffees. The food was good but I wouldn't go back unless there was a guarantee that I would have a competent waitress. It's a shame, I thought this would be a great new find.
