East End Kitchen

The brunch today was enjoyable even though the restaurant was crowded and a bit noisy. We had a good waitress, pardon me, a "server", who remembered to refill the coffee (it was tasty and fresh) and take our orders, The food came out of the kitchen hot and nicely prepared. This place has improved over a shaky start and is worth the visit. Prices a bit high for the neighborhood but not too crazy. I'd go back for lunch or brunch. I wish they would have a "No Kids" policy or, at least, seat people with kids in the very back in a noise proof area.

Have been to East End Kitchen about 10 times since it opened. The food is quite good. Portions are better sized now and the quality is high. The prices are on the steep side for a local joint. The real problem is the staff. They let the phone ring and ring. By and large, the faces in the front of the house at the door and bar and not so friendly. Your presence always seems like a surprise. The wait time for drinks is often long and there are lags between courses. Some of the more experienced waiters say something but the others just let it go. Also, diners who sit at the tables in the middle of the room always get bumped into by staff and other diners moving around the room. Please try to configure these tables in a more suitable arrangement. I think a lot of the diners just overlook these consistent flaws since there is not much in the way of any other choices in the neighborhood. But good money is being paid and you would think the management would light a fire under the lackluster staff. SMILE. Be attentive. This is the HOSPITALITY business afterall.

Tucked away on 81st this has a great friendly bar, good food & nice atmosphere. While a bit pricey, we've never been disappointed.

A most enjoyable experience. Finally a restaurant on the UES that I can call my favorite! Between the decor, the food and the service, I must say it was outstanding! When you walk in, the decor is just amazing with the wainscot decor and the crown molding. The owner really put alot into making this restaurant amazing. If you like Ze Cafe in Sutton Place, you"ll love this hidden gem!

Had dinner last last Saturday with a group of friends. The staff made us feel very welcoming and came over a number of times to tell us our table will be ready shortly. There was not one in our group who was less than "Very happy" with the portions and the taste. The desserts.....what can i say....maybe should have ordered desserts first

This place is ADORABLE and the food is pretty good, but the service is atrocious. They screwed up our order, ran out of coffee cups, never brought things that we asked for (drinks and salt) and generally seemed completely disorganized. This place could be great if they could get it together!

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place so I've made a conscious effort to try it several times. It was never great but it seems to be getting worse and worse and worse.... the coffee drinks are good (if you ever get them) the menu has good choices but the food is consistently disappointing. I've officially tried it for the last time. What a waste...
