East Dumpling House

I tried the Pork and Chive dumpling on my first go and they were a disaster....much too salty, more chive than pork in some and the dumpling dough was unpleasantly thick. I also had the spring roll and was flavorless and too greasy. I threw away most of it both dumpling and roll. But the place looks really clean and the service was good so I tried again (I really love dumplings). This time I had the basil, chicken and shitake mushroom. These are fantastic! A great balance of chicken to mushroom and basil. The dough was tender and not too thick. They were a touch salty but not so much that they were inedible like the last time.

First time trying it last night. Had a great experience with the yummy pork and shrimp dumplings as well as the chicken and basil. The place was clean and service prompt. The food was flavorful and as expected. If you order fried dumplings, they should be slightly greasy so I don't know what other posters were complaining about. I am ethnic chinese and eat out almost every day and enjoy finding these little gems. The restaurant also sells their dumplings frozen, so I bought a bag of chicken/basil to enjoy at home.

This honestly is not an offical dumplings house. Food bad, you can taste it's frozen never fresh. But people were nice.

morningside heights doesn't exactly offer a slew of asian restaurants to choose from (empire gardens and the like do not count). East Dumpling has finally brought decent dumplings and noodles to the area. prices don't compare to chinatown, but aren't terrible. the restaurant service is fine and i've had no problems with delivery. for dumplings, stick to the traditional fillings (pork & chive or pork & cabbage). the noodles aren't bad, but i wouldn't recommend the bulgogi, which is not much better than boiled beef. the broths are on the oilier side, but flavor is good. don't bother with the rice dishes.

good hearty dumplings but i wish they would not advertise their food as korean. their korean-sounding dishes are not korean at all.

I'm asian, so i know a good dumpling, steamed dumplings are good and noodle soups are good as well, and considering we're in the west 100's, this place gets bonus points. fast delivery, reasonable prices, will def. order again. please keep this place alive, it's good.

I've ordered from here about five times and probably won't again. The dumplings are good, but I don't think they're any better than the frozen variety that you can get at any Asian supermarket. The non-dumpling dishes are subpar and greasy. The spicy noodles were basically egg noodles with hot sauce.
