beer cheese, please.
this restaurant is peculiar in that when you order a cheddar grilled cheese, they give you kimchi, pork, and an egg. i give it an earnest, whole-hearted, unequivocal recomendation. and you can take that to the bank. occupy earl's.

Really great!
I agree with all the reviewers above. Everything we ordered was really good, but it was so warm in there, that I wonder what it will be like in the summer. I didn't see any AC vents, so I'm not so sure about that! Otherwise, we had the beer cheese which was good but slightly strange), the miso sandwich and the mac and cheese, which were both awesome. I highly recommend it, but keep in mind that it's super casual in all aspects.

This place is amazing
The food here is wonderful and I love the beer selection. Service is great and I actually find the small space cozy and charming.

Wish I owned it
What a nice addition to this barren hood. The place is so cool, except for the smallness. Everyone who works there is so friendly. Menu is small but everything is of surprisingly high quality. Mac and cheese and grilled cheese with with egg was so amazing. I bet if you suggest something to the chef that it might be on the menu the next day, which makes this place a twice a weaker. I won't even talk about beer

Beer cheese!!
Amazing food. The beer cheese is a must have: buttered toasts with garlic cloves and a heaping portion of tangy, flavorful spreadable cheese that is the perfect snack to go with one of their off-the-beaten-path draught beers. The pickled plate is tasty and refreshing, the perfect palate cleanser before digging into one of their famous grilled cheese sandwiches. The one with mozzarella, miso mayo, pickles and chips is my favorite- I got it two times in a row. The decor is cute and cozy, the service is friendly and neighborhoody, and they have trivia on Tuesdays. It's a great new addition to this neighborhood, and well worth the ride uptown.

Problem: Space is just too small
It's a great place, but it is too, too small. Not even enough room to stand and wait for a seat to open up. One long table that seats maybe 6 comfortably, 8 if you don't mind coziness with total strangers. And a handful of seats along narrow counters and bars -- maybe 6 or so total? Love the food, decor, music and atmosphere, but there is something wildly impractical about the space. Hope they can annex more square footage and expand.
