Over rated
The atmosphere is pretty, we had the porterhouse for 2. We asked for medium well and the steak tough and tasteless. Second the price for this was unbeliveable. Number steak house is Peter Lugars...nobody makes a steak like PL..

What happened?
I have been going to Dylan Prime for the past three years and have always trusted its great atmosphere and amazing dishes. Tonight I was beyond disappointed. I was straight up embarrassed because I had taken some important clients there for dinner. The food was barely edible! Let me repeat-I was embarrassed to have recommended the place! I asked my server why everything had changed so dramatically and he said that there was a new chef. I'd like to know where the old chef went because he knew what he was doing! Please don't waste your time or your money on this place! It's sad to see a neighborhood place go so off track. After what we saw tonight, I don't expect it to even make it another year!

Great rib eye
I came here with a friend for dinner and was seated in a lovely booth despite not having a reservation. We ordered a bottle of wine, two rib eyes rare, and the mac and cheese and broccoli rabe as sides. Everything was extremely tasty and cooked perfectly. Dessert, however, was pedestrian and the cappuccino I ordered was lukewarm and tasted like drip coffee that they'd frothed up. The music was also invasively loud and didn't gel with the ambiance. Very weird choice. I'd probably go back for lunch.

Will Never Go Back!!
I am a NY lady who eats all around the city in good restaurants. Never been here so decided to try with some friends. The resaurant and ambience are lovely--and that is where it ends. The food is very mediocre and VERY OVERPRICED--ESPECIALLY FOR WHAT THEY GIVE YOU---NOT MUCH!!. The service was very poor in a half empty resaurant with plenty of staff. You should not have to CONSTANTLY ask for water or butter at these prices. the music--OMG--the worst. I thought I was in a punk rock club and on top of that the sound system sounded like something that was in my sons dormitory 20 years ago! I left with a headache.

all around excellence!
Do believe the naysayers. the are just poseurs trying to bring down one of the greats! You would be hard pressed to find a better room, meal, drinks or service anywhere in this city. I have been to every steakhouse in the city and this place has got it right. not just another Lugers clone. It has is own personality and menu. The menu changes slightly of the seasons which is always refreshing. It has most of the usual Steakhouse items, but lots of great items that no other place has. The only weakness is the desserts. I get the cheese plate or the molten chocolate. Standouts include the Beef Wellington Rack Of Lamb and the Filet .Plus, ALL the apps are great as well as the sides. I skip the "chappeaux" but that is just another way Dylan is unique is a city full of boringly similar Steak Houses.

Great Anniversary Dinner
My husband and I spent our 3 year anniversary celebrating at Dylan Prime. I don't understand all the negative reviews. We started with the fondue which was amazing and I definitely recommend you start with that. I had the hangar steak topped with cheddar and bacon which was super tasty and a huge portion. My husband had the bistro steak and finished it all. The sides we chose were the baby baked potatoes and parmesan bread pudding-both excellent. They offered us a free cheesecake martini as it was also my birthday and that was delish also. We will be returning

if only the chef was as good as the mixologist...
The best part of the $300 + change dinner for two were the drinks. The Tribeca Towncar-Dylan's twist on the sidecar was the tastiest cocktail I've ever tasted. Sorry to say, this is where tasty left and never returned during our stay at Dylan Prime. The restuarant is beautiful and ambient, but the food is horrendous for the price they charge. We had to return the lobster bisque because it was unedibly bad-it didn't even remotely resemble any bisque I've ever encountered. It looked more like the gruel they used to serve during the Great Depression. The crab cake was decent at best, and so was the scallop appetizer. My significant other's rib eye was completely nothing out of the ordinary and both the bordelaise sauce as well as the bernaise sauces were not very tasty-they were bland, buttery, and dull. The lambchops I ordered were a good size and decent compared to the rest of the meal. The desert-Lava cake that we took to go tasted like betty crocker. The sides-mashed potatoes and creamed spinich tasted just one notch better than the Boston Market version. Service was good though. They have a lounge so go for the drinks, but eat someplace else. Chances are, where ever you decide will be better than Dylan Prime.
