Customers can be vile
Saw the female couple with the chick who keeps saying "This ain't heaven, this is paradise." One girl was dressed like an extra from Dynasty - stilettos, pantyhose, a dress and a fake fur. Her GF wore a fedora and double breasted suit. Crazy! They had a fight, and left separately. But the food was so good I never cared. Check this place out for the food even if the customers take themselves a little seriously. I had amazing fish, and would go back any time. Recommend.

Step into food and fashion
I absolutely LOVE the hip scene here. And the food. The wait staff always have great recommendations - try the steak! I grew up with a poster of an impressionist painting in my room - my friends thought I was weird, I knew it was so I could move to Brooklyn and live the life! If some people think the scene here is too hip, I say you're either too old, sqaure of maybe just bitter. Bon appetit!

blow up
yeah, the food is good. but, as some of the reviews on here would suggest, the customers can be absolutely horrible. it seems a standard w-burg/g-point restaurant complaint by now, you know, something along the lines of "the hipster service was obnoxious," but perhaps it's a response to some of the obnoxious delusional fashion-obsessed people that pretend they like good food just like they pretend they like art. yes yes, you always wanted to live in new york city, how cute. too bad you're too late.

$$$$ but yummy
The prices have gone up since I've last been here, but they changed the layout of the bar and I think it's a huge improvement. Lots more room to sit and chill and drink/eat at the bar. Also the burger is still heavenly. SO good. MMmmmmmmm...I want one right now...

She's a rich girl
She wears long silk stockings, and high stiletto heels. She says "this ain't heaven, this is paradise". I'll take her back. She loves her some Dumont. She enjoys the macaroni. Me, I could go to Doogee Burger. But she's my girl.

Hip!
I moved here for the hip scene. Billyburg is my muse. I mean, it is the ONLY place that will indulge my specialness. And you know what? I expect it to. And you wanna know what else? I eat at DuMont. I love the hipness - yes, my peers are here. And wanna know what else? I LOVE the food. Delicious mac n' cheese, and also the best burger. So so good. To my friends in Greenpoint? Make the trip - it is worth it. And plus, it's cooler in the 'burg.

It's True
It really is the best burger. The hipster service can get a little obnoxious though.
