DuMont Burger

I went to Dumont a few months ago with three other people. After being forced to wait outside in the cold for more than 30 minutes, we were finally led to a incredibly small table (even by NYC standards). Not two minutes after we were brought out our drinks, one of the waitress knocked an entire bottle of Diet Coke all over me! My sweater, light colored shirt, jeans, jacket and suede shoes were completely covered. I'll give her a very mild concession for offering to bring club soda to get the stains out, but there was not so much as an apology, an offer to get a manager or to comp my meal. Since I had plans after dinner and being covered in soda is never appealing, I left the restaurant before my food arrived, with contact information to receive compensation for the cleaning costs. My jacket and shoes fortunately did not have any visible damage, so I sent Dumont a bill just for getting my clothes cleaned. After a few exchanges, they agreed to send a check by mail. Cut to present day, and I have still not received anything. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the millions of other burger joints in Williamsburg. This place is staffed by underwhelming people that cannot handle something that must happen often in a place stupidly small for the number of people they cram in. Oh, and my friends said the burgers weren't even that great.

We have been ordering from Dumont Burger for quite some time. The past year the delivery service has been poor. We are always told 45 minutes (which is already a very long time for a burger) and consistently wait close to 90 minutes for the food to arrive. When the food finally does arrive sit is luke warm at best. Poor delivery service and we will no longer be ordering from Dumont Burger.

If you like burgers, this is your place. Big portions, juicy burgers, tasty fries and great pickles. The ginger carrot soup that complimented my chicken breast sandwich was delicious.

Contrary to a lot of the reviews here the place still has amazing burgers, still great quality for the price. Burgers are on the red side but thats what makes them great. Great beer selection and great menu. Yes its small and it can get crowded but still a gem.

Such great burgers and fries...try chipotle mayo! I am obsessed w burgers and this is my go to. The Mac and cheese w bacon is also great.

Before ordering in from this restaurant you need to be prepared for 2 things. The first thing is to wait around 1+ hour for an order and the second is to have your order "forgotten" by the staff when you call in to check the status. With so many good restaurants in the area you would think they would do a better job with serving their customers. Time will tell how they will do in the long run... My recommendation, either go and pick it up or choose another restaurant with better track record.

When we arrived at this place, I saw very few people eating although it was packed; the others were drinking and waiting for their food. That was already a bad sign. After we (only 2 people) ordered our food, it took 45 minutes until the waiter finally came to our table to tell us that the kitchen was "a little backed up." Instead of offering us snacks etc. to make up for the delay, he asked if WE wanted to order something to drink. At that point, I had already seen the same waiter bringing a wrong dish to the table next to us. At least they got their food after a long wait although they ordered after us (which also was unacceptable). We left with an empty stomach and will never go back.
