Great trivia night!
They have trivia night the last Monday of every month. I went last night and had a GREAT time! Food and drinks were all delicious, and servers were very friendly and attentive. The guys leading the trivia were really funny. Can't wait to go back!

Good laid-back after work bar
I really like Dukes. It's my favorite after-work bar since it is so laid-back and friendly. I am not a big fan of after work "yuppy" bar's where the drink specials are still $9. The food is good, the beer is good, good music (a lot of 90s rock) Never gets jam packed crowded. If you are looking or a place to just chill after work or whenever, I recommend Dukes.

A for Effort
The two of us just happened to walk by Duke's and decided to try it. Nothing special. They start you off with 2 biscuits and 2 muffins. Small but OK. I ordered a roasted corn chowder with avocado ($2.99 cup) which was OK, just not very flavorful. It came out with the entrees though. I had the chicken fried steak ($15.99) with collard greens and a huge mound of mash $1 extra for greens as substitute for carrots. The steak was chewy as expected but not expected was the humongous amount of breading. The portion was very large but made even larger by the tons of breading. It was in a brownish mildly spicy gravy unlike the customary white creamy gravy it was fine tho and far better than the meat. You could never tell this thing had been fried at one time. My companion had a shrimp po boy. The shrimps were fresh but the breading was falling off . The sandwich itself was average size but there was a lack of sauce in it. It came with mediocre soggy french fries and a cole slaw that was decent. A Boylan's root beer and iced tea were $2.99 each. Service was OK atnosphere was casual, post college. They make an effort with the small things: a nice container for leftovers, a shopping bag blaring Duke's BBQ on it, menu's stapled to it and a frequent diner card (10 visits gets free entree). The booth we sat in was very roomy and the AC was on strong. We'd give it another chance because there are other items on the menu we'd like to try .

Overall, stay away...
The service was friendly when the waitress bothered to come by but she spent a lot of time talking to others on the serving staff. The hostess refused to seat me until at least half my party got there even though the dining room only had 3 people in it and I told her I didn't want to wait at the bar. Except for one of the appetizers, the food was uniformly lousy and bland. The music was so loud we kept asking that it be turned down. It would be turned down for one song, then turned up again. Finally, we had a party of 6 and the waitress added on a 20% service fee without mentioning to us. Hoping for a double tip it seemed like. At least it explained the overly laid-back service.

I've had Southern BBQ. . .
. . . .So don't try to pull my pork!! The pulled pork sandwich was just OK. . .the meat tasted somewhat old. The cole slaw is too mayo-ish. The best entree we ordered was the buttermilk coated fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes. I would have to say that dish was a 4. The mac and cheese was decent. . . A little glass of wine was $7.50. . . An average place with service that leaves you wondering just who was your server.

Not worth it
I went to this place last night for the first time. The food was somewhat ordinary. Brisket is okay but very greasy. The ribs don't really have a lot of flavor to them. I'd expect more from a BBQ place. The service was just bad. We sat at the bar. I like a bartender with a little bit of attitude- nothing wrong with that. But this girl was just acting rude to her customers. In addition she didn't know anything about the food or the beer. This place advertises itself as BBQ, beers and babes... Nice try, but I don't think so.

Average Food, Slow Service
We went early on a saturday for lunch and the restaurant had 4 tables filled. The appetizer came out witht he main course and was cold, the salads were just ok and the service was very slow. They were nice in the fact they admitted their lack of order of appetizer and main course and comp'd us for a dessert which also took forever to come out of the kitchen. Not a place we will be rushing back to any time soon!
