craving satisfied!
I bartend, and one of my customers who knows my love for food, esp ribs, absolutely raved about the ribs at Dukes. My boyfrnd and I, totally starved and desperately seeking ribs, decided to head into city and try Dukes. The 37th street one was all out! But, we were on a mission and we went to the one on 19th and park. It was great! Open later and better atmosphere, in my opinion. We went Sun night, so it was dead and we got great service...server was very attentive. Ribs were great! We got one full rack and one half and shared. Collard Greens good and sweet mashed. Carrots were so so. We bought a jar of barbeque sauce. It was good and I'm not crazy about open jars left out on table. You never know who was sitting there b 4 you and if there was any foul play in the public barbeque sauce! So, as far as ribs go they definately have my vote and I'll be back.

Yummy BBQ & Sandwiches/Appetizers
I absolutely love the uncle bubba's buffalo chicken sandwich, fried, of course. I don't like to eat at the restaurant so I order after a night of late drinking or just when I feel like being a little unhealthy but want a satisfying and big meal. The spinach and artichoke dip is good only if you're a big fan of cream cheese. I tried the triple threat and all the meat was very good. Pass on the mac n cheese though.

what is wrong with asking for vegi bacon at Dukes? they offer a vegi burger so it doesnt seem that unlikely.

Much improved over Earls!
I have to say since Duke's replaced Earl's there've been significant improvements and I have become much more of a regular (did not like Earls at all). However, beware of the salads. Let's face it--this is not a salad type of place so if you're looking to cut calories don't do it here! And you won't want to. Can't complain about a single thing I've had there--nice, friendly and casual and always have been pleasantly surprised by the food.

Good BBQ spot
Burgers and wings are great. Prices are a bit inflated, but this is not surprising. Service is so-so, with attentiveness being low during peak hours. The outdoor seating is nice, but beware--during dinner-time you must order food in order to be seated outside!

OK Bar but Delicious BBQ
I wasn't expecting much from the plethora of neon signs advertising Bud Light, Coors, Lone Star, etc. However, some sacrifices must be made to bask in the succulent heaven of decent BBQ. Although I could hardly know at the time, those sacrficies were justified. Duke's offers a small section fo BBQ platters (4 choices) and you can get as few as one and as many as all 4 (though it'll cost ya). I went with the half rack of ribs with bbq skirt steak combo and sides of baked beans and collard greens. Now, some places pretend they have 'fall off the bone' ribs, and the problem is they aren't willing to invest the hours it takes to really gelatinize that connective tissue. Well, not only was there plenty of juicey gelatinization, but one of my ribs actually DID fall off the bone. The BBQ sauce they add on (properly after cooking) was excellent too. Even the collard greens were somehow amazingly yummy. The only disappointment was the baked beans, just a tad undercooked and could have been more interestingly flavored. As for rude service, well the waitress was very nice, but also very busy. She was like a whirlwind! Though if you're vegetarian you should probably not dine at BBQ restaurants (and obviously not rate them either). Just like if you are allergic to shellfish, wheat gluten, and milk then don't go to oyster bars, bakeries, or coldstone creamery. Maybe next time I go to a vegetarian restaurant, I'll try to order a portabella mushroom sandwich but with meatloaf intsead of multigrain.

Consistently good
This is my second time ordering delivery and it was very good both times. Service was excellent. I've had BBQ both times, the herb beans are a delicious side. I like places that save your phone number in a computer with your address, it's smart, it makes me want to go back to them if that's the genre of food I'm in the mood for.
