the best
this place is one of my favorite restaurants in brooklyn. authentic (german? bavarian? austrian?) cuisine, good value, charming atmosphere and something like 500 beers, with 12 on tap that change constantly. Service is extremely friendly and helpful This place is an amazing, hidden gem, even if they didn't serve food. but oh, the food. They have the best schnitzel I have ever eaten - rolled with ham and cheese and fried perfectly. The pork special (pork cutlet on a potato pancake with mushrooms, onions, and pickles) simply cannot be described; it is crazy delicious and must be experienced. Their bar snacks are top notch as well. Ask for the beer croutons, which are fried pumpernickel bread, crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. the hunter's bites are little fried sausages served piping hot with house fries and killer mustard. I dream about them. Obviously not the place to take your vegan date, however.
