The food was fairly authentic for east coast. The mole poblano is particularly good. But the delivery was too slow - it took an hour when we were told 35 minutes - and the food arrived cold. Also, they did not include any picante, salsa, or hot sauce of any kind. I'm not likely to order from them again.

finally, a decent mexican joint and it happens to be a block from my apt. as someone who grew up in los angeles and san diego, ive had the best mexican food outside of mexico. this place is a legit spot and ive tried a dozen or so in ny.

I ordered for delivery right before they were going to close, and they were very accommodating. The person on the phone was really nice, the delivery guy was also really nice and the food was very good and well priced. I had the steak nachos, which I would recommend you ask for salsa and sour cream with them, and I had some sort of a cheese dessert stick. I recommend all those things. I feel very proud of myself for choosing so excellently, but I'm also very lonely.

This is the perfect local little restaurant. I get take out here 2x/month. Yes the food is hot, hurray! If you are whimpy about heat, ask them to leave it off. Jeese!

Was looking for a new Mex joint and came across this spot despite the name, the food and atmosphere are very authentic. I ended up ordering the enchiladas which were described as hot (there were three different temperatures: mild, hot (2 types of hot), and hottest) I love hot things and can handle a pretty high degree of heat in my food - these were way out of my comfort range though. My girlfriend got something else which apparently had the same sauce, she took one bite and said "I can't eat this, it's too hot." I thought that I would have no problem with mine, but within three or four bites I realized it was blazing. I tried to be strong, but only made it through one of the enchiladas, which I am still paying for now (it's the morning after). I will almost definitely go back here the food actually did taste great (what I was able to taste anyway), and the guy working the counter was really nice (and apologetic when he realized that we had nearly combusted). I will definitely get the mild next time. Prices were really reasonable too.

there was no cheese at all on any of the food! no spices!! very bland, the service slow they messed up my diet coke for a regular coke! would not go back

This place is decent, but a far cry from the "amazing authentic Mexican cuisine" that some others have touted here. My chicken burrito had bones in it at times, and was completely overinflated with rice. However, good Mex food doesn't seem to exist in NYC so this is among the better things going. And I will say, my experience with the service is highly positive they are friendly and hard-working. But I've yet to really have anything in NYC better than Qdoba, besides down at Esquina which is badly overpriced. Anyway...go to the Downtown Bakery if you're in the area and want some simple Mex fare for cheap and quick, but don't expect to be convinced that you're actually in San Antonio...or even somewhere in the Midwest with good Mexican for that matter (Chicago, Indianapolis)
