Was really good. The best fries chicken & waffles by far! Had some spicy BBQ chicken wings and a sampled a chicken wrap really delicious! Great service.

    Very Good Food

The chicken and waffles were off the hook! That means very good. The fish has a very unique taste to it. The collards, cabbage, rice and beans, and corn bread were very good also. The prices are reasonable and you get your money's worth.

Greasy, Salty and Overpriced Poor Service

We paid $80 for 3 dinners and 3 slices of cake for which we waited an hour, even though the place was not crowded. To add insult to injury staqff got the orders wrong. We're from Los Angeles so we know what great soul food should taste like and this my friend is NOT it.

    Hmm

A few months ago, around May, I received a flyer while going into the train station. I decided to try the restaurant out while on my lunch break. The restaurant was nice and very colorful; however, the line formation was confusing and there was no menu board. I'm used to this, but it would be easier for first time customers and those who don't frequent the rest. to order hassle free. One of the servers was polite but not highly efficient and her co-worker gave my food away which resulted in me spending more time in the rest. than necessary. I believe I ordered a waffle, rice and chicken wings, and cornbread. The wings were supposed to be BBQ but they tasted weird to me and weren't fully cooked. The waffle was okay and the rice was just nasty. I hate to throw away food, but this was a no win situation for me. The best part of my meal, if I remember correctly, was the cornbread. I did not taste any of the West-Indian food, but as someone who eats this type of food religiously, I wasn't interested just from looking at it. The prices are also a bit steep I if you're just looking to buy lunch or breakfast. I did get to see Doug E while I was there though! I so wanted this to be my lunch spot but that that one visit was enough for me.

    Off The CHAIN!

If I didnt have anything good to say about Dougie's restaraunt wouldnt say anything at all...and im glad I ate there more than once before I read some of the previous reviews...every one is entitled to their own opinion...but in my Opinion Dougie Fresh did his thing by opening up a restaraunt in Harlem...the food is off.the chain...i ate from almost every soul food spot in Harlem, from Amy Ruths, Jacobs, Charlies, Spoonbread, just to name a few...and never have I ever tasted Yams the way Dougie's prepared...the Collard greens, the Mac and Cheese and the Chicken wings was off the Chain...it was so good I posted how good the food was on Face book...and I have a lot of friends in the church and outside the church and I recommended that they go try Dougies Restaraunt out...enjoy!

    Fish & Waffles!

I absolutely love the fish and waffles. The first time I ate them I fell in love to the point I have not ordered anything else. The fish is well seasoned and fried at just the right temperature. The waffles tasted like ,,, idk vanilla and goodness. I wish they were open more regularly, but when they are I find the staff cheery, personally welcoming each customer with a, "Hi, Welcome to Doug E's!"- I love this. My advice, just call ahead.
