Anticipation for disappointment
First, this restaurant is NEVER open! The one time it was me and a friend walked in and got such a nasty attitude from the woman behind the counter. Then it took forever for the food to be ready! When it was, the server's attitude was just as bad as the food. Give it up and do something you know how to do Doug E. cuz food ain't it. How dare your staff be so nasty! Haven't they heard of customer service? They badly need some training.

He can do better
ok my take on the food..i ordered fish and fries one day and ordered the chicken the next....hmmmm not so good. the fish taste like chicken and the chicken taste like fish?he need to put me in the kitchen for atleast a month time and watch me bring up his ratings...real talk i know southern food and that aint southern!!! no seasoning? greens has to be seasoned

Doug E Freshb should be embarrassed
I am a native New Yorker and am in Harlem, N.Y. Frequently. This place is almost always NEVER open ! I decided to try out the food on 10/28/12 and was highly disappointed. The people behind the counter were unprofessional and lacking in etiquette. I waited 25 minutes for chicken fingers and soggy waffles.He should be ashamed to have his name on this establishment. I will tell every one I know NOT to patronize this place. I happen to like Doug E Fresh....his chicken n waffles place.......not so much

51st Birthday Breakfast @ Doug E's
Wist away to New York to celebrate my 51st birthday. We left the club and right next door was Doug E. First-time visitor I asked the young lady behind the counter to recommend something and she did. (Shrimp & Waffles) The service great the atmosphere great but the food was off the chain. I told them it was my birthday and they even sang happy birthday. Not only will I commend the restaurants for its Good Food but also its GREAT hospitality from what appeared to be some pretty outstanding people. I will definitely return the next time I'm in New York

Good food + poor service and atmosphere = no return visits
For me, good cuisine, atmosphere, and service counts a great deal. When myself and a friend arrived, they weren't even open. 1) open your doors on time! 2) smile and lose the attitudes; I want a pleasant atmosphere when I'm "grubbin". 3) make sure most of your menu items are available. 4) if you work in the kitchen and must go outside, WASH your hands upon returning. 5) Fix your fountain machine; so that the customers can choose their drinks

Was really good. The best fries chicken & waffles by far! Had some spicy BBQ chicken wings and a sampled a chicken wrap really delicious! Great service.

Very Good Food
The chicken and waffles were off the hook! That means very good. The fish has a very unique taste to it. The collards, cabbage, rice and beans, and corn bread were very good also. The prices are reasonable and you get your money's worth.
