    Excellent food, drinks, and service!

The guacamole is amazing, and the margaritas are great. We did have to wait a little while without a reservation, but it was worth it. The restaurant has a very stylish, cozy interior that is great for a date or a larger group. The food was good and our server was really knowledgable and gracious. It wasn't the cheapest place, but I haven't been to a better, cooler Mexican restaurant.

    Not worth the wait

Not worth the wait. I ordered 2 tacos and left very hungry. Portions are way too small and expensive. The guac was good, but nothing spectacular. Drinks were ok.

    Not recommended

Dos Caminos: Small portions of mediocre overpriced food served by inattentive and unaccomodating people. They jammed our party into a very small table and when we asked the hostess if we could expand over the the next (empty) table she said condescendingly that she would check and then never got back to us. You have to hunt the waitress down to get anything like salt or the bill. The food was small but the prices are big. The guac is good, but really no big deal.

    Not that great!

I was extremely disappointed with the service after dining here with 12 friends this past weekend. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and still had to wait a half hour after arriving! After we sat down, we had to wait 40 minutes for our meal to come out. The waitress said it took so long because 2 people ordered steaks (yet, they requested the steaks be cooked medium-rare!). Not only that, our waitress was practically MIA during the course of our meal! I would only recommend this restaurant for the drinks and guacamole! Oh - and the food was average, nothing special.

    Dos Caminos is very shady

The guacamole ($12) says it serves 2 people and we ordered 3 of them. The server asked us if we wanted doubles and we said yes thinking a double was the $12 portion. Later, we got a bill for $72 worth of guacamole. Furthermore, it is not as good as Rosa's.

    Don't take a broke college kid's advice

I've been here for brunch - which is one of the best deals in nyc - and for dinner a few times with my wife. The place looks great, the service near perfect, the food offers a variety interesting flavors, although portions aren't exactly lumberjack status, and the drinks can stand up for themselves. Obviously not the cheapest place -- but it's 2005 in nyc! -- many other restaurants are more overpriced with much less to show for themselves, especially ambience and service. Not really anything to complain about.

    Not Worth It

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, their menu doesn't offer as many choices. The food is definitely overpriced. I thought the food would actually be greater BUT they go more for decor than more food. I had the Chilean Seabass, and the piece of fish was smaller than the palm of my hand, the waiter told me it was accompanied by yuca but mine was accompanied by 5 small pcs. of potatoes - I know what yuca looks and tastes like! I was looking forward to going to DC for soo long and its definitely NOT worth it!!
