    Go For the Gucamole

The Guacamole is the only thing that is good about this resturant. Without a doubt this is the best gucamole I have ever had. That was all that was good. The decor is cool, but what resturant in NY is not? It seems like a hotspot, but the mix of people was eclectic. There was the young professional crowd, to a bunch of tourists. My margarita was sub par. The first one was much better, super frozen with just salt on the rim. My second one tasted as if there was a tablespoon thrown into the mix. I ordered tacos, which were cold, not even luke warm. I am not 100% sure they were supposed to be cold, but the waitress should have mentioned this. Cold Taco's ew! They don't have on the menu quesadilla's but they do have them. They should have that on the menu. That is a great staple and probably tastier then cold tacos. This resturant seems great in theory, but when a corporation or conglomarate runs the show, it loses its charm. I would go back for appetizers, well just guacamole.

    Not recommended

Aside from the atmosphere - all the tables were filled and it was a lively crowd - this restaurant was not worth nearly as much as it charges customers. The food was very average - not to mention the menu or the server doesn't specify that the fish tacos are fried. Gross! The ribeye steak - the signature item on the menu - is too small a portion for a $26 price tag. The servers are unfriendly, although the matire'd was professional. The bathroom wait is long and annoying, given this is more of a restaurant than a bar. And the house chopped salad was very sub par. If you're going for margaritas and that's all, fine. But avoid this place for Mexican fare. Trust me, there's much better out there for much better value. Your wallet and taste buds will thank you.

    Cool atmosphere

Large, cool space. The food is good. Ideal for large groups and for celebrations. A bit pricey though.

    Poor experience

Last night I dined at Dos Caminos . Not only was the service mediocre, but the food was definitely lacking. Apart from the lobster tacos, which even a novice chef can perfect, the food was unappetizing. The price point is way too hight for the food that is served at the resturant. Please note that although the ambiance is asthetically appealing, it cannot make up for the low quality of food served at this establishment. It is a third rate resturant not worthy of being on Park Avenue South.

    Great food and atmostphere

I don't know about all the other reviews about not getting enough guacamole. Believe me, we were a party of 6 and there was plenty of it. I even though it was too much, because by the time we got through the appetizers we were more than satified and only a two of us actually ordered an entree. I was very satified with the food quality and variety. Drinks were made right, desert was delicious, overall I would definitely go back. The only drawback was service, the waitress tried to push so much food on us (to bring our tab up) that we were dissapointed in that sense. Starting with what she called "the usual" amount of guacamole for 6 people, to "you're not going to order any entree? Are you sure?" to those who didn't. Other than that we enjoyed it and I would definitely go back hoping to get a different server.

    Let's see....

Well, the tacos and ceviche are certainly passable, good tequila list and the margaritas are decent, usual made to order guacamole and I would say above average steak for a Mexican place. The problem with these types of restuarants (Maya, Dos, Rosa etc) is that they all feature the same type of Mexican food, boast impressive tequila lists and all almost have the same pricing. For my money I would much rather go to Puebla or La Esquina. However, suprisingly the highlight of my meal here was probably the Mexican banana split which was both unusual and tasty.

    Fabulous for Brunch

Sunday brunch at DC was not only delicious, it was a great value. I had the brioche french toast, which was out of this world, and it came with a prickly pear margarita and coffee for only $13. My girlfriend had the huevos en cazuela and said it was outstanding. The portions were also very large, we were stuffed for hours after we left.
