Dos Caminos Park

I grew up on tacos and burritos in the Southwest, and thought this would be nothing new. I was totally wrong. The food was delicious and the service was quite good. My friends took me there on a Friday night and and it was a bit noisy for me, but everything tasted wonderful. It's definitely not Del Taco and that's a good thing.

Had dinner here on a Monday night... food was excellent! The guac is definitely some of the best, the shrimp quesadilla was phenomenal, as was the veggie quesadilla... the waitress was very pleasant just a little forgetful and it took quite a long time to get the main courses... drinks were pricey for the size... normal NYC prices but tiny glasses. However, the Red Sangia was quite tasty... As long as you are not looking for the best price value and/or the best service (it was totally fine, just not phenomenal) it is a great and fun place to go... count on a long wait Thursday thru Saturday nights...

i did not have a great experience this time around. i've been to the one in midtown east a few times and had a wonderful experience however - great service and great food and drinks. however, this one on park was just lacking. our server was training someone and doing a poor job at that. she never checked on us and drinks took forever. the guac was just not very good and we waited to pay the bill forever. basically she just forgot about us a bunch of times. tasty chips as always though.

The music was way too loud in there. We waited for 15 minutes to get our first drinks. Then, we waited 45 minutes for our food (which weren't even entrees and mostly cold platters) and all the waitress could do to compensate us for the wait was to give us a few cookies. The food was edible but not that great for the price paid.

I had a delicious meal here last week. The food tasted incredibly fresh and the staff was very attentive. However, I still just find it crazy to pay $14 for two tiny little tacos. If you want any sides they must be ordered separately for an additional cost of course. Feeling like I needed something else I went with the spinach - which was incredibly greasy so it remained mostly untouched. The food and atmosphere is great, and I know the restaurant is located on Park Ave. I have no issues with paying top dollar for top food - but I still do not feel the mealwarrented the price.

I love Mexican food, if you do too, this is not the place to go. The best thing on the menu is the guacamole and after that it just goes down hill. The empanadas are nothing to rave about. My boyfriend had tacos and found them to be disappointing. I had enchilladas which were ok- nothing too special. This place takes some basic Mexican food and tries to put their own twist on it. Great if you're not looking to eat Mexican, but if you are you will find the food here bland and unentertaining. Might I also add that for the price, it's definitely a rip-off! The only positive was that the service was good. We ordered and received our courses in a timely fashion. Still though, not enough to get me to ever go back to any of the Dos Caminos locations or possibly any of the restaurants in their chain.

Since I've been going the food has gotten worse!! Don't plan on going back anymore unless its for drinks & guac dip, oh yea and maybe the dessert, but that's about it!!
