    Fun Place

I live in the neighborhood and this is one of my favorite places to eat. I love the food and atmosphere. That being said, when you eat here, you have to be aware of some of their gimmicks. They push bottled water, the wine on the table and ridiculously overpriced "specials". After ordering, the waiter tried to change my mind on the app. I asked him how much the special app was that he was pushing and it was $15.00. To me that is mid-town 5 star dining prices. I went last night with some friends in from out of town and we had a great time. Unfortunately, you just have to be aware of their schemes to increase your bill. It is really too bad that they choose to operate like this because I am sure that they have had many customers leave with a bad taste in their mouth (pardon the pun) after getting their bill.

    Give Me More!

Went on the recommendation of the hotel staff at the Marriott (92d St). Said It was their favorite and I would now agree. Some other reviewers talked about the pressured staff. Our family found them totally accomodating and friendly. They made sure to refill your sangria and water glasses. Presentation and food was outstanding, especially the tieramisou (sp?) and flan. Will definitely revisit when back in the neighborhood. The only takeaway I would lodge is that the music was a little loud.

    Went back for more!

We sampled many appies and shared the Sea Bass, and the service and the food was EXCELLENT! The Maitre' D recommended wine for each of us, one white and one red, and they were outstanding choices....exactly what we were looking for, to compliment the food and delight our own palates. The following night I went back solo for the Churrasco, which was unbelievably tender, served over yuca frites. Jay, the owner wandered in and I introduced myself and complimented him and the chef on a couple of GREAT meals. Turns out he is opening the Kellog's Diner in Brooklyn. Quite a contrast in restaurant styles, but I will check it out next time in New York.

    Agreed - ONLY DRINKS! Total rip-off .

I live on this block, so I have given these guys a chance 3 times. Each time it got consistently worse with the scamming (the "specials", pushing the wine left on the table, etc.) and the food quality. We also had the fried oysters, which they burned on one side, so served them to us with the black side down. We sent them back. Then it took forever to get the rest of our food. The specials, which we ordered, were ten to fifteen dollars over the rest of the menu! Big shocker when we got the bill! We were also uncomfortable because they pressured us to order the wine on the table (we didn't) and also the specials (we did - big mistake). Super small portions, and we left just feeling taken advantage of. It's good for Sangria. Sit at the bar and have a drink, but after the way we've been treated as dining customers, I no longer feel like supporting this place.

Good for Drinks and Entertainment only!

I went here with a group of friends to see and hear the Flamenco entertainment on Wed 8/20, which was excellent. We were meeting right after work, so I knew I would be hungry, and since this was a planned in advance evening I decided to check out the reveiws for their food. After reading mixed reviews here, I also referred to my Zagat 2008, they received a high score of 23 for food! I reasoned that between the mixed reviews here and Zagat's very high score, I would have a decent meal. What a let down! My appetizer Chicharrones De Ostra (fried oyster), was so over cooked it was unrecognizable, and my entre, Mariscos Al Ajillo @ $21, was so skimpy, as was everyone else's who ordered this dish, it looked like they were running out of food. I was still hungry when I left here. The Sangria was very good, as was the Flamenco, but I would rate this place a very low 15 for food. The high rating must have been under a different chef.
