Meh
Besides The pizza, which was quite good, everything else was under the average new York eating experience I have had so far... In two words: to avoid.

Slow delivery
I placed an order for delivery on a Wednesday night that took over an hour and I live a block away. However, it is delicious. I now know to order before I'm actually hungry.

Pleasently surprised
I must admit, I wasn't expecting too much when we arrived at Don Giovanni. While the outside seating area looks okay, we ate inside and I was hoping the food was better than the very basic decor. Luckily, it was; six of us had excellent Italian food, large portions, and moderate prices. Even the inexpensive wine was good. Of course, the rest rooms are quite small but, hopefully, you're not in there too long. Our server was friendly and personable, very helpful, although I don't remember his name.

Best joint in town for Pizza and more!
I've lived in New York for many years now, and believe that too many of us have settled for a good meal at a 'decent' price - meaning 'decent' by New York Standards. At my favorite weekly spot, Don Giovanni's on 10th Avenue between 22nd & 23rd, I am always guaranteed my absolute favorite thin-crust pizza in New York City. They have a full Italian menu (bigger than most I've seen in Little Italy) with amazing appetizers (the mussels are not to be missed) to large salads with their own secret recipe dressing, and home-made desserts. The atmosphere is comfortable, they have outdoor seating for the summer, and a family-like staff --- with the lowest prices in town, which goes for their wine and sangria as well! I have made my trips a tradition for over ten years, and hope for ten more! No muss, no fuss, just the way we city-dwellers like things here!

one of the two wonders Chelsea has to offer
Don Giovanni Ristorante has to be the best kept secret in Chelsea along with the Highline. This restorante has the best brick oven pizza in town. I eat their Pizza every other day and I love it every time. They have a great out door cafe with a interesting view of Chelsea and its residents. The waiters are very friendly and helpfull. I would recomend it to everyone who appreciates good food and service. We were there for my wifes high school reunion and we had a wonderfull time without leaving a big hall in our wallets. It was very rasonable. I will defenitibelly would be back again and again.

near galleries
I went to the galleries, and we came to this place with friends, all the walls where in opera pictures. We ate 3 large pizzas, and there was four of us, great food. Wine selection is good. Prices are reasonable. that was nice experience.

things done changed
sad to see another restaurant go down this path. its probably the economy. don g's used to use fresh ingredients but times they r a changin. the quality of the pizza has gone away. they are obviously using cheap ingredients these days. the salad was chopped fine like you would get on a subway sandwich. maybe when economy changes they will be able to use real food again
