one of the two wonders Chelsea has to offer

Don Giovanni Ristorante has to be the best kept secret in Chelsea along with the Highline. This restorante has the best brick oven pizza in town. I eat their Pizza every other day and I love it every time. They have a great out door cafe with a interesting view of Chelsea and its residents. The waiters are very friendly and helpfull. I would recomend it to everyone who appreciates good food and service. We were there for my wifes high school reunion and we had a wonderfull time without leaving a big hall in our wallets. It was very rasonable. I will defenitibelly would be back again and again.

    near galleries

I went to the galleries, and we came to this place with friends, all the walls where in opera pictures. We ate 3 large pizzas, and there was four of us, great food. Wine selection is good. Prices are reasonable. that was nice experience.

    things done changed

sad to see another restaurant go down this path. its probably the economy. don g's used to use fresh ingredients but times they r a changin. the quality of the pizza has gone away. they are obviously using cheap ingredients these days. the salad was chopped fine like you would get on a subway sandwich. maybe when economy changes they will be able to use real food again

    amazing

im not sure that the people writing reviews are actually going to Don Giovannis. I eat there all the time and i have to say the pizza really may be the best ive ever had in the city. The portions are very generous and the staff is aways soo warm and professional. Oh well, its their loss.

    Cutting Corners

Have always liked this place. The pizza is quite good with some nice toppings (try the chicken with sundried tomatoes). But like reviewers at the midtown branch have observed, they're starting to cut corners. For VERY expensive salads, they've now shrunk them by a significant amount and are not offering up bread at the beginning of the meal. Like other reviewers wrote, you don't go here for atmosphere, but you go for generous portions of basic Italian food at reasonable prices. Would be a true shame if they misunderstood why people go there and pissed off their customer base. In today's economy, there's always another option that's willing to please its customers.

    subpar restaurant experience

It's started very good: good food, the waitress was attentive and nice. However when the check came and we decided to pay a portion by cash and the rest by card, they charged everything on the card ( tip included!) as if we never gave cash! Anyway, at the end we ended up giving less tip than what we were planning on just because of their behavior! And the irony is that usually I am pretty generous with the tip!

    Idiots

Hey negative reviews you don't go here to sit and have a fine dining experience. Get delivery or take out and you'll be satisfied. If you're too cheap to eat down the street at Del Posto then go to Verona, New Jersey and stay there.
