    Bad Service

I eat at this restaurant often and went in last night with my friend and asked if we could sit in the back. The restaurant at 8:15pm was practically empty. I was told I could NOT sit at a table for 4 and HAD to sit at a table for 2. I asked why and they said that they could not sit 2 at a table for 4 even though I saw another couple sitting at a table for four and we had huge coats and bags with us andthe restaurant was pretty much empty. Then when I orderd my usual Rigotoni Medici the noodles were broken and soggy. Bad experience last night.

    Great Food, Great Delivery

I got delivery from Don Giovanni's a few months ago and was hooked! I order from them so much now, I programmed their number into my cell phone! They are always polite on the phone and their delivery is extremely quick!!....especially for NYC. The stuffed shells are what I order almost every time.....they are fantastic! The food is always fresh and unlike lots of places, they do not skimp on the portion size just because its a delivery. They offer a quick delivery, and a large portion of good food at a great price!! I love Don Giovanni's and will continue to order from them frequently!

    Soggy pizza

My wife and I went to Don Giovanni with my son's urging and recommendation; he loved the pizza there. We went on an early Friday evening and ordered a Margherita and Alle Vongole pizza well done. The clam pizza was completely soggy in the center; I couldn't even lift a slice without having the toppings fall off. The Margherita was luke warm, as if it had been sitting around. This was a total disappointment, as I really looked forward to a great pizza. Don Giovanni may satisfy theatre going tourists but disappointed this New Yorker.

    Reasonable in the theatre district

Ate here with a few weeks ago before seeing a show. Chose it based on reading reviews on Menupages. We were not disappointed! Actually we were very pleasantly surprised! We each had something different, all dishes were delicious and prepared as requested. Service was fast and attentive. It's a cool restaurant in with old fashioned decor - we loved it. And so incredibly reasonable, we'll definitely be back! Not easy to find good food at relatively inexpensively these days in NY. This place fits the bill, and then some!

    Dining before the Show

We ate here on Oct 13th before going to see Grease. We got to the restaurant late (6:30 pm) due to traffic and a nearby street festival but were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. The staff was friendly and efficient. We placed our order, had our meal and were out the door by 7:40 pm. The food was wonderful, plentiful and well priced. Overall a good dining experience.

    Good Inexpensive Neighborhood Italian

We love this place for low key, reasonably priced Italian food. The only downside is the pasta comes with the sauce of the main dish with no substitutions. Would definitely recommend for a good hearty italian meal.

If you want New York Pizza...

Skip Johns... don't bother driving to Brooklyn... just stop my one of the two Don Giovanni Ristorantes to have the very BEST pizza in town! Thin crust with a flavor to die for... baked in a wood fired oven and baked to perfection. I can very simply that I have tried hundreds of pizza joints over the years in New York City. This receipe wins, hands down without even a fleeting thought of any other pizzaria. Now, the other side of the story... although Don Giovanni's does boast a menu offering a variety of items but most of them are average at best... so moral of the story... if you want Italian food in general, this may not be your best bet... but if you want the best pizza in New York City, you have found the place!
