The best pizza in the city

What a great little spot. Stooped by with friends before a show and had a great dinner. The pizzas are heavenly, thin, crispy and full of flavor. Calamari and portobello mushrooms where amazing as well. The place have a nice selection of pastas and wines and a very friendly and warm service. Atmosphere is classic Italian, and prices are very reasonable. if you're in the area don't miss it!

I live a block away but the food took an hour.

Hugely disappointed. I live a block away but the food took an hour. When it arrived the gorgonzola sauce from one pasta dish had leaked its into the lasagna dish. The food was cold and congealed cheese was really not worth the wait.

    medoicre

the food here is very medoicre. All the dishes skimp out on the sauce , making everything very bland.

    disappointed

After reading about this place on-line, went pre-theatre on Sat nite, pretty empty. Wait staff very young and not seasoned, was totally ignored while they stood in the doorway chatting (2 ft away!)w/each other. Description of garlic bread with fresh mozz, sundried tomatos and eggplant sounded yum- was awful! The bread was completely dry and stale, with a couple small pieces of supermarket cheese & 1 slice of cold eggplant! Then came the veal parm - one small piece of veal loaded with cheese and sauce with about a pound of (not home-made) spaghetti on the side. The veal was thick and chewy , not pounded thin, and flavorless. Out of all the places in that area I could have eaten at, you'd think they'd have at least made an effort. I was horrified! Life is too short to eat bad food and put up with bad service - will never go back

    Great value in thearter district

Went on a recommendation from a friend. Wife & I stopped in pre-show sat at the small bar (bit crowded) w/view of semi-open kitchen. We shared a small 4 cheese pizza, nice thin crust (actually had blue cheese in the mix), Ketel One martini & 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio, $30 & tip. Cozy atmosphere, lots of old opera pictures. Very young & friendly staff. Came back after the show, not crowded but not empty. Had big spinach salad w/bruschettra & fresh mozzerell, $9. Wife ate veal marsala w/linguini $16, very nice. I had a special, chicken rollatine stuffed w/ham & asparagus, garlic mashed, & nice fresh crisp green beans, delicious, $17. Portions were more then enough and food was piping hot. Took home leftovers! Bill w/2 glasses of wine each was $70! If you're looking for romantic ambiance & artistic presentation go elsewhere. If you're looking for good food, service, and price give it a try. I'll go back again soon.

Not what it used to be

I used to go here a fair bit when i moved to the area, but i've now had my last visit. It used to be very large portions of good food. Now though it seems to have got more expensive for less food of lower quality. Service and atmosphere are still good though.
