Don Filippo

Ordered a pizza here the other day at a little before noon. 45 minutes later the food hadn't arrived. I called, "its on its way" I was assured. 30 minutes after that still no pizza. Call again. "What did you order?" was the response I got that time. Finally, at about 1:30pm, more than an hour and a half later the pizza arrived, obviously Ice COLD. And the toppings were pretty sad. Sausage was burned to a crisp and the mushrooms came out of a can.

this place is amazing.... ever since my wife started working around the corner 3 years ago, this place has practically become my second home. the staff is great too, always asking about the baby if he's not with me, or engaging and playing with him if he is...it can get crowded around lunchtime, especially when you first walk in, it's kinda narrow, but it's totally worth it. pizza and heroes are great.

The pizza is better when you order a fresh pie. It can vary when you go in and order a slice. The kitchen serves generous portions, but their marinara sauce is a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, a very friendly neighborhood pizza place with table service at a decent value for the neighborhood.

I only usually order in from here....the pizza is great, huge slices, but when I'm in the mood for really good pasta I choose Phil's Favorite, penne pasta w/broccoli, sliced chicken breast, shrimp & a great white sauce. This is tooooo good, the portion great for lunch w/left overs for dinner (or, midnite snack)! Definitely do this!

Their pizza is amazing each time I go there! Their slices are huge and inexpensive. The place is always booming at lunch time, and they are always friendly and ready to take your order. Definetly my favorite place to grab a slice in the city:)

Favorite upper east side Italian basics - pizza, chicken parm, garlic knots...

I get pepperoni pizza (or white) almost everytime and everywhere I get pizza. By far, Don Filippo has the best pepperoni pizza. Best when it is fresh but always quite good.
