Avoid the "Viennoiseries" !
The pastries themselves are fine but the chocolate croissants are just lousy. Everything is about a dollar or so overpriced. Do they really not know how big a chain Financier has become in Manhattan? The customer service is as poor as you have heard on Yelp, to the point of being the cliche French hostile and rude. If you are in the area, walk either to a nearby Financier or the great Balthazar (even with all the tourists, their baked goods are amazing).

Crazy delicious
Usually when I read rave reviews, I'm underwhelmed by the actual thing. But not here. I've gone back multiple times and tried almost all of the star items. The canele are the best I've ever had (apparently they bake them off in three batches daily to keep it extra crunchy). And there's this caramelized croissant thing that was a-mazing. If you don't know what to order, trust the recommendations from the staff. They know what they're talking about!

A-mazing!
From the moment I walked in, everything was just really...pleasant. The staff are very friendly and sweet. Everything looked amazing. They say the cookies are baked by the hour. They do their own ice cream in house and all the macarons. And it was nice to see the open kitchen - so clean and neat! And then there were those DKA's! Don't even get me started on them. Amazing! Everyone in Manhattan should try one. I would say this was the best new bakery in New York in a long time. Not just another cupcake shop, if you know what I mean.

Best New Bakery this Year
I had high expectations coming, and minus the longer than usual (took me about 8 minutes for my sandwich), the place was really solid. Food quality is just on a whole new level from what you can get in Soho. It's on par with Bouchon, and when it comes to the pastries and croissants, it's even better. The DKA's!!! I never thought a pastry could change my life, but this one did! Incredible! Not just another cookie-cutter place. LOVE it!
