Dolcino Trattoria Toscana

The impeccable service and cozy atmosphere were just the start of a great dinner. My fiance and I enjoyed warm bread and a delicious Caesar salad. I had the gnocchi with pesto sauce which was superb. My fiance had penne vodka with chicken which he liked, but there was a funny piece of chicken in it, so he didn't eat the rest of the chicken after that one. Their prix-fixe menu, 3 courses for $25, is a great deal. I'll do that next time. We had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert which was also yummy. I love sweets, and this wasn't that sweet, but it was still great. The strawberry they served with it was so fresh and sweet. I would go back here in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone I know. I was too happy to give our waiter a big tip because he was really fantastic. Everything was perfectly timed and he checked in with us a perfect amount of times. He didn't even shove the dessert menu in our faces the way some restaurants do! This is truly a gem.

i've only gotten delivery. the food is very good, you can tell it's very fresh, very quick delivery. it's a bit pricey & the portions could definitely be bigger.

Pastas are not bad. Bread was fresh. Avoid anything else on the menu, like soup or salad -- you'll be disappointed. I doubt the chef has ever been anywhere near Italy. Of course, if you have a glass of wine first, you really won't care.

We went for a night relaxed evening, and that was definitely what we got! The atmosphere was very relaxed, and the service was fantastic, very helpful and attentive. The food, however, was average. We had the antipasto for two, and was quite bland. The Seabass was good, and my partner had the veal and mozzarella which was very heavy and greasy. We ended with the apple strudel which was excellent. I don't mind paying for good food, but I feel that it was over-priced for what it was.

We went to Dolcino the first week it was opened a few years ago, and have been back six or seven times since. We would go more often if we lived in the area. The food is really good - not everything is amazing but it is all better than average. And considering the prices it is a great value. The service is also really amazing. I gave 3.5 stars for atmosphere because some of the decor is a little cheesey, but the ambience is still relatively good and the service and food make up for it. Also, the zuchini and olive oil the serve with the bread is out of this world. I would say anyone with reasonable expectations, that takes into account the prices being paid, will be pleased. It's great for a dinner date (if you aren't trying to overly impress someone) or family get togethers. Definitely better than any place I've been in Little Italy.

I love Dolcino. I have been coming to this restaurant for about a year now and i still love it. My favorite dish is the veal tartufatte. The selection of wine is good and the prices are even better. Also the zuchinni they serve with the bread is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant ... you wont find many like it.
