My friend invited me for my birthday here and I usually rate restaurants for a well known respected periodical down south. Here are the observations... Upon being seated, the manager shouted out that the kitchen would be closing soon so we should order immediately, (we entered at 3p.m. on the weekend). After being seated and served our drinks, our waiter was no where to be found for the next fifteen minutes! When the soup came (as part of the starters) my friend's salad was nowhere to be found (until they served the main course). I did not know service was not a requirement in such a large restaurant/bar with almost no customers (this should have been a tipoff sign for us). Additionally, no one asked if we wanted more drinks and we even had to pest a busboy for more drinks.

I try to make it to Docks each time I come to NY. The food is superb and the atmosphere is typical NYC good. Wonderful menu and acceptable service. The only weird this about this place is that they advertise they are handicap accessible, when in fact the only restrooms are upstairs - and no elevator to get there.
