When ordering, please pay careful attention to grammar, i.e., Crabcake = singular = only one cake. The portions are inconsistent. The oysters and scallops are generally fresh and very good as they should be. The shrimp was tough and lacked flavor. The house coleslaw was bizarre tasting, deviating from classic american coleslaw making a bad combination of a classic fried seafood and colesalw mix. The place has potential to be a very good seafood establishment but really needs to work on the menu, keeping it very fresh and simple. Lastly skip the dessert!

One would think that this place, always crowded, had something to offer. Forget it. The caesar salad was very small, had basic iceberg lettuce and was not tasty at all. Noted for its fish and seafood, my friend and I ordered Dover Sole and Swordfish. The sole tasted frozen and the swordfish came like a lump on the plate, no garnish, sauce or seasoning and it was dry. Baked potato was cold and tasteless - no offer of butter/sour cream and had to ask for it. With its high prices, it's amazing that the place is still in business. Never again!

My friend and I sat down, and ordered two glasses of white wine. It was the smallest pour we had ever seen, and we mentioned this to our waitress. She apologized, and promised a better pour on our second glass. What???? Then our dinners arrived while we were half way through our appetizers. The server wanted to leave them at our small table. We told him not only was there not enough room on the table, but we were simply not ready for the main course. Unfortunately, the same meals was served a little later, and by this time both fish dishes were completely dried out. This was an expensive, unpleasant experience that we will not be repeating.

A friend and I went to Docks last night. We each had the Caesar salad. It was good, but much too small for the price. We each had the fried scallops. They were excellent, but the portion a bit small for the price. French fries were cold. We shared an order of creamed spinach. It was quite good, but again, the portion was too small for the price. The waitress interrupted us a few times to ask if everything was okay. These interruptions were very annoying, and we didn't bother to tell her that everything was not okay. What would be the point of having to wait for new French fries, or complaining about the small portions? She also continually referred to us as "guys" instead of "gentlemen." I guess she thinks the place is a neighborhood diner. Whoever trained her is clearly a rank amateur. The check, including one alcoholic drink, one soda, tax and tip, was over $133.00. I don't plan on returning.

I hadn't been to Docs in a while so decided to treat myself. The service was absolutely impeccable. A+ but the food was average. I got a $29 lobster roll and have it better for about ten bucks from a place in manhattan. It wasn't terrible but there were a couple of "fishy" bites. Plus I bit down on a piece of shell. Just not the kind of food that you'd expect from Docks. A little dissapointed, won't be gong back.

Just had brunch there, invited by clients. There were four of us. Three of us had Eggs Benedict. Every dish was cold, the eggs were hard cooked, not runny, the English muffin was hard. Of the cups of coffee I had, only the second refill was hot. This restaurant is past its prime. Don't waste your time and money, there are much better places in midtown.

The martini I ordered while awaiting my friend was cool, not cold and quickly became room temperature. When my friend arrived, I ordered New England clam chowder as a starter. It was cold. I sent it back and was reserved cold. I sent it back again and it finally was slightly hot. The entree, while hot was served with cold mashed potatoes. My friend's meal came with cold French fries. All through the meal. our waitperson was out of sight and other staff were simply unavailable. For $75 each, including tip, what used to be a good seafood restaurant is not so good anymore.
