    Doc's is Great!

The food is surprisingly good, particularly the seafood and sirloin steak bites appetizer (on garlic bread with mozzarella), and great burgers. The atmosphere is lovely. There is a warmth about the place. It is now gorgeously garnished with Christmas decorations, a very pretty patio with trees overhead and smaller dining area on the lower level. Live music occurs every Thursday and Sunday, contemporary and traditional Irish music respectively. The customer service is also excellent.

Why do people think this place is great?

The bar itself is just average--just your run of the mill pub. And the food there is pretty bad. I have had a couple of burgers and other sandwiches at Doc Watsons. They either a) have 0 taste or b) taste weird and awful. The first couple of times I went there, the food tasted like cardboard. Like, I picked up the 'food' off of my plate, and I could see that I was biting into it, so I knew that I was eating it properly, but then....nothing. No flavor was discharged from the food as I chewed it. It was 100% flavorless. It is as if they go out of their way to wring the taste out of their food before they serve it. Seriously, how hard is it to make a hamburger that isn't at least just ok? Also, the fries are these little stupid circular chip-shaped things. They also have no taste and are weird to look at. You know that you're at a bad restaurant when the best thing on your burger plate is the pickle. The last time I ordered Doc Watson's food, it was take-out with my girlfriend, and it was simply to give the place another chance. I figured that previously the cook was just having an off day the last couple of times I'd been there. So, the food came to my apt. (chicken fingers, grilled chicken sandwich, and a cheeseburger), and, lo and behold, it tasted like nothing and/or crap. My chicken sandwich was inedible. It tasted so bad that I threw it out. My gf was so weirded out by the tastelessness of her burger that she threw it out as well. The chicken fingers were really gross too, so we threw out most of them. This place is absolutely horrible. Like it's so bad that it makes me angry every time I walk past it.

    Good Value, Good Food.

It's an Irish bar, so they have the staples. The food is good, but not great. The one thing that I can recommend highly about the place is that it's a pretty good value. Go and check out some of their specials and you won't be too disappointed. Just don't go expecting great bar food. It's good at best. The staff can be friendly, but they can ignore you at times as well. I don't want to say it's hit or miss, because it's not. Just go for some good, cheap food and chat with your friend while being left alone for the most part...

    Lovely

I love everything here at Docs. Irish breakfast us unreal as well as everything else. To get Delivery or go there for the atmosphere is up to you. Bar staff are great fun and plenty of opportunities to pick as well. all round a great place.

    Outstanding Locals Hangout

I had to add a comment as I read previous reviews and disagree with them all...Service is outstanding with all staff regularly going out of their way to accommodate you. Chef is amazing - nightly specials are worth ordering...and the main menu consists of Irish bar staples...pastas are better than most Italian places. Crowd is friendly and one should feel comfortable striking up a conversation with the person next to you.

    Subpar Service! Go Somewhere else!

I used to go to their brunch all the time b/c it was such a great deal. However, the waitresses are incompetent. The food takes way to long (ie-scrambled eggs shouldn't take a half hour to make), the waitresses stand around gossiping instead of quickly taking care of what you asked for and they always mess up our order in some shape or form. It always takes them about 20 minutes just to run your bill and bring it back. Ridiculous! To make things worse, they charged my bill wrong and when I went to complain, they did not care! I asked for a manager to speak with....no manager was there and they blew me off! I wouldn't waste your time and money on this place because they clearly do not care about taking care of their customers. The atmosphere and quality of the food will not make it worth your time.

    Poor service

I went tonight with my husband and 2 young girls. We arrived at 6:45 and ordered. The kids food came at 7:00, not bad. at 7:45 I had to track down the waitress to ask about our food. Still nothing. Asked a manager, still nothing. At 8:00 we asked for our food to go because our kids needed to go to bed. When I got home, both of our orders were wrong. They were completely unapologetic!! I've been before and it's been fine, but I'll never go again.
