    Korean food for non-Koreans

I only care about the quality of the food. I want it to taste good. This place is overpriced and serves average Korean food. It might be good for beginners to Korean food and I would bring a non-Korean date or non-Korean friends there. But I would never go alone or take anyone Korean there. But if you need ambiance, drinks menu and decent service this place is for you.

Good korean food and great ambiance

Most Korean restauraunts in Ktown and elsewhere are run by Koreans for Koreans. Dohwa took Korean food and repackaged it for the NYC restauraunt going crowd making it definitely a much more user friendly place to go for Korean food. The great decor and service makes this the place to take out Korean food newbies. But truth be told, the food is slightly above average and you'll be paying more for the "cool" factor rather than the food. Sometimes that's what you need although ktown is still the best place to go for good korean food at a good price. But if you want great Korean food, you'll have to trek off the island over a bridge to Fort Lee/Pal Park or Flushing/Bayside.

    Yummy Yummy In My Tummy

Do Hwa is a fantastic restaurant... Great food, atmosphere, and service. I have been here on numerous occasions and know for a fact that it would provide the ideal setting for students who are looking to let their hair down and celebrate the completion of their semester. It is also particularly amusing to tell people where you are going... When you say "Do Hwa" try putting the emphasis on the "Hw" in Hwa and say it like you are kung-fu-chopping someone. Great fun every time. The only problem with Do Hwa is that coming up with a pun that incorporates its name is harder than completing an "evil" puzzle on websudoku.com.

    Great Korean in the Village

I live nearby and love the food and atmosphere. I would go there more often for dinner if my budget would allow - but LUNCH is very reasonable!. I disagree about other posts on the service, which I always found to be excellent.

    Great Atmoshere & Food

The appetrizers were excellent. Try the cod cakes as a main course.

    Absolutely Amazing

The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The bibinbab in the stone pot is a must. Definitely beats Korea town.

    Decent food. Poor service.

I had a birthday party of 13 people here. The wait staff was disorganized. Some of our orders were incorrect and there was little attempt to rectify the situation. Instead, one waiter actually told me that what I ordered was not on the menu! After I had to show it to him on the menu, he did not apologize. Poor customer service. The appetizers and ban-chan were great but entrees were too salty and seafood was overdone. Overall a mediocre place....
