Rare homemade cooking!
This place is absolutely great. We came in for an early dinner about 5:30 pm on Friday and were the only customers at that point. The waitresses were extremely friendly and smiley. I had Balkan special what essentially was tender sauteed vegetables with 'bits of veal'. The chunk of veal was actually rather huge, I'd say about half a pound. My friends had all sorts of kebab and we shared a spinach burek for an appetizer. These guys cook everything from scratch so all the dishes come out fresh and delicious. The portions are huge and prices are great. I am planning to come back once I have a chance. Though featured in NY Times and other media, this place seems like an undiscovered gem. Highly recommend to everyone!

Great Cheat Eats.
I've never had balkan food before, and so this was my first experience. I am so happy I went, the food here was great, the cevapi is definitely one of the better dishes. The service is somewhat friendly if a little awkward and hurried. The atmosphere is lacking, with no real decorations and sort of a musty feel. However it is definitely cozy. Though the bar is aviailable and open. There are probably only 4 bottles of wine open and available on display. Overall the food and value is what I would go here for, not neccessarily the service or atmosphere.

wonderful!
The atmoshere is comfortable, cozy and clean, a rarity in Midtown! The burek is fantastic and authentic. You can also ask them for Makedonski Salata (it wasn't on the menu when I've gone) ,which is tomato, cucumber and feta cheese with an olive oil and vinegar dressing...and don't be afraid of the feta...it's much creamier and less briney than the greek varieity. They didn't have ajvar when I went,, but I'll have go to back now that they do!

I can not get enough of this place
My friend Dirk introduced me to this fabulous restaurant and I can not get enough of it! Still my favorite course is that meat patty with the homemade cream sauce on top. The only downfall is that the yogurt was a bit runny and clear when I was there the last time but still a must for any New Yorker!

Pretty good...
The burek is as good as the burek I used to eat in Serbia as a kid. The stuffed peppers (or rather: pepper--since you only get one) were a tad bland. Cevapi, very good, but not the best I've had.

A Hidden Treat
I came here for lunch with a friend. It was a nice little suprise for this neighborhood where there isn't much in the way of a decent sit-down restaurant with good food. Though the waitress was a little distracted and it took us a while to get the check, everyone was very friendly. The food was pleasing. I ordered a salad with feta cheese - it was much larger than I expected and very tasty. I also got a cheese Burek but was a little disspointed and thought that it was slightly overpriced for what it was - just dough and cheese. The portion, however, was large - I couldn't finish it. I would come here again the next time I want to splurge a little on dining out for lunch.

Yummy
The burek is to die for, the cevapi are delightful little meat fingers that melt in your mouth-need I go on?
